Overlooking the part that they they have really strict check in time at 4pm (3pm if you are member). Majority of the front desk staff speaks basic English. (There was one that spoke really fluently though.)||||Location wise, the hotel is 3~4 mins from Kuramae (Toei Oedo Line) exit A5 (with elevator) and about 10 mins walk from Asakusa Tourist Spot. There is a 7-11 1 minute away and for food solution, you might have to walk to Asakusa area.||||Our room was located on the 9th floor and when we strolled pass some of the other rooms (the door was left open for cleaning), we realise we got a slightly bigger room. ||The room was clean and everything seems fine.||The wifi was non-existent in the room and upon informing the front desk on that, the staff came quickly to fix in a router in our room.||Our window faced another building, so there was no view to speak of and that there were pigeons loitering outside, so we did not open the window almost at all. ||The bed was a little hard and the pillow was soft on one side and filled with some plastic-like things on the other. ||The room was rather spacious, enough for our 2 luggages and the air con with heating properties did warm up the room enough. ||The washroom was rather big as compared to most Japanese hotel washroom.||There is breakfast service and washing machine and dryer on the 1st floor. Microwave and water dispenser is on the 1st floor as well.||||I signed up for the membership so as to check to in early. But as it seems, there are a lot of pros that come with it like 20% for Sunday and Japan's holiday and 5% cheaper then non-members.||Overall, the hotel is not bad. I will probably give the other chain a try so as to maximize my membership...

Read moreThe hotel is slightly far from any JR station if you want to utilizes your JR Pass. However, it is quite near to Sensoji and Tokyo Sky Tree. It is near to other subway or metro station. Amenities such as toothbrush, razor, tea, pyjamas, comb and facial care kit was free to take at the lobby. The room was quite comfortable but the room we get have a window but doesn't have a view. The service mostly was ok UNTIL I requested an extra pillow and was told that I need to pay ¥1500. Not sure whether It was a miscommunication or what? I asked if that is deposit or what and the front desk not able to communicate well but at the end he gave me an extra pillow without charges. I hope that was a miscommunication as this really give me a bad impression of Toyoko Inn chain. This is my first time staying with Toyoko Inn. I have came to Japan for many trip and this trip alone I stayed in around 10 hotels & resort and everytime I request extra pillow I never get such request for extra charges for an extra pillow furthermore 1500yen was quite a lot. Other than that everything was fine and the Free breakfast was little choice BUT Delicious! Except that the dining area was quite small which was ok for me as I pack my breakfast and eat in my room. By the way, the New Year Day breakfast was exceptional! It gives foreign guest a taste of Japanese traditional New Year food!
So basically everything was good except being asked to pay 1500yen for extra pillow which was weird. I hope Toyoko Inn management can clarify this as this really is important for me when deciding which hotel to book in the my future...
