I recall that evening, my sister and I didn’t know what to eat and didn’t want to go too far from the hotel after a day wandering around Tokyo, so we decided to go on Google. When searching, I wasn’t impressed with the restaurants listed at the top, but when I scrolled down to the bottom, I saw a sushi restaurant and read the reviews. Thinking that it would be a shame not to eat sushi while in Japan, we decided to go and meet a friend there. When we arrived, we were a bit surprised because there was no queue. We opened the door and stepped inside, only to see a foreign couple who had just finished eating and were about to leave. I wondered if the restaurant was really as good as the reviews said. It wasn’t until the chef, who was also the owner, invited us to sit down and started introducing the menu that everything seemed to open up. Part of our conversation was in English, and part was translated by my friend from Japanese to Vietnamese, but all four of us communicated very happily, asking questions related to the food. The chef was very cheerful and enthusiastic. After choosing our set meal, all four of us talked about Vietnam because the chef had been there before and really wanted to return. Then, the chef prepared each dish, explaining the ingredients carefully and guiding us on how to eat them. I have to say, with such a private space, enjoying delicious food while chatting with the chef was truly unbeatable. If you ever get a chance to visit Tokyo and stay around the Asakusa area, you should definitely stop by this restaurant. I highly recommend it.

We had just arrived at our hotel hungry. So when we looked for a place this was right around the corner. A cute family owned place where you feel the love and passion when you sit at the counter. The chef/owner was a really kind man who speaks English quite well. He was teaching and telling us all about the Japanese culture and cuisine and also gave us some amazing tips. It was an amazing start of our trip and gave us some guidelines how to eat and where to go. We had an amazing omakase experience with the freshest fish, the tastiest dishes and good conversation. There were 3 omakase menu’s you could choose from. We tried many different types of fish and sushi and everything tasted so fresh and delicious. A full satisfactory experience. I would recommend this place to anyone ever visiting Tokyo.

Well well. Enjoyed my lunch “Omakase Sushi” 2,900yen which includes 10 pieces with extras, miso soup and a dessert. Satisfactory but not the most surprising and exciting experience, it’s not bad at all, but not the best either. I sat at the first floor counter (closest to the entrance) which were i felt the cold breeze coming in and out time to time when customers enter the restaurant; I wonder what the second floor is like … (better reserve if you’d want that, I just went straight up want-in style, and so did others). For improvements, I recommend them to have a waiter (server) instead of multiple people with multiple roles coming to the seats. You can see the miso soup ball was wet … hahaha Anyways, they seem English friendly which is a good thing :)

We absolutely adored this place! We didn’t know where to eat that night, and we came across this restaurant. When we opened the door, it was completely empty, and since we were with our toddler in a stroller, we weren’t sure if we would fit, as we only saw a bar. The owner and chef quickly made space for our baby and seated us at the bar.

What happened next exceeded all our expectations. It felt as though we were dining with a private chef — just us — who explained every single ingredient and dish. You can feel the passion of the owner and the joy in every bite of the food. The food itself was absolutely out of this world. I have never tried such good sushi.

The lady was extremely sweet and caring, especially toward our baby! We not only recommend this place, but if you are staying in Asakusa, it would be a shame...

Final Verdict
