Mt. Usu Eruption Memorial Park, located near the Toyako hot spring town, was created to commemorate the eruption of Mt. Usu in 2000. This location, where you can overlook the entire lakeside, is a popular photo spot. The scenery of Lake Toya is different during the day, evening, and night. The ``Chinkojima'' that was created by the eruption of Mt. Usu on March 27, 2000 and connected to the shores of Lake Toya by a sandbar can also be seen from the Mt. Usu Eruption Memorial Park.

Right now the kids playgrounds are all roped off and covered with tarps, probably to prevent the spread of corona. They didn't seem to be in bad condition. Also the garden area is also not in season for blooms, but the fall leaves are stunning all around and there are many benches under wisteria bushes that look really promising for the spring.
