Attracted by the caramel fragrance around the corner, we went in and got a milk tea dorayaki which cost ¥250.

We brought it back to our hotel and the caramel inside the two little pieces of pancake melted to the optimal condition when we opened the package. And the milk tea fragrance filled up our room. Tiny tea leaf powder can be seen in the moist pancake pieces, balancing the sweetness of the caramel paste in between. This was soooo good!

We went out again and tried to buy some more but unfortunately the shop closed at 16:00. Please don't miss this gem if you are around during...

Was looking for a quick late lunch while waiting for my room to be ready.

This place was within walking distance from my hotel and still open at 2pm. A cosy family run with simple menu and great hospitality.

Ordered the prawn and vegetables tempura udon which was a bit salty at the first sip. The hot noodles offered a comfort food on a cold, windy day.

Their signature seems to be the cold/ hot white bean soup dessert. Tried the hot version with red bean and rice cake - amazing combination and balance of flavours.

Definitely will visit again if I’m...

Had the Oshiruko (a Warm sweet white rice porridge) with a rice wafer at this corner cafe - picture on menu shows a decent size bowl but I was quite shocked when they served it to me in a small coffee mug. When I asked serving staff if this was what I ordered she nodded saying yes (later I read a disclaimer on the bottom of the menu advising customers that their order may not look the same as depicted on the photos). Anyway I was quite disappointed as the porridge felt watered down with a few small rice balls but nice to have something warm on a...

We took a walk along Lake Toya and decided to pop in for a quick lunch. I must say this was one of the best lunch we had. The Katsu Curry rice was cook just nice with succulent pork katsu paired with curry of the right texture. The soba was fantastic with a nice and clear soup base. The rice ball (or mochi) paired with red bean and ice-cream was out of this world. That took the cake of our lunch. The staff need no mention as they are Japanese and they were truly great in their service. I’ll say if you stop by Lake Toya, pop in for lunch.

The inside is nice with all the wood tables and pillars made from logs. The staff is nice. When they say the oshiruko is "warm," what they mean is "fire." I burnt my tongue a bit. The soup doesn't really taste like anything. I thought the ice cream would be a legit scoop of ice cream, but it's probably a ball from prepackaged Yukimidaifuku; it's a small ball ofice cream wrapped in a thin layer of mochi. I eat it often, so I'm pretty sure it's that. It'd probably be better on a very cool day?

Pls come visit! I love the hospitality. We were served by a group of old ladies and they made every effort to make our visit pleasent. Can speak a little bit of English but they try their best to take our orders. Serves dessert only and it's really good. Can feel it's home made. Simple but homely desserts, hot and cold, perfect for a winter afternoon treat :-)
