We stayed at Auberge Kunugiya for 2 nights and throughly enjoyed ourselves. The owner has exceptional taste in art, books, music and furniture... the stay was comfortable and cozy. The main reception/dining and music rooms are done up tastefully. One could just chill and relax. The rooms are basic and clean. Meals are excellent and highlight to our stay! The owner (also chef) makes french for dinner and jap breakfast. Meals are so delicious. Seasoning is on point. We ate everything with gusto! Owner is a lover of porcelain.. all the pieces are curated by him and bought from Arita. If I lived in japan, I would definitely come stay just to relax and enjoy the meals.... Highly recommend

子供も独立して還暦越えた老夫婦だけとなり大人の楽しみ方としてオーベルジュを選択した。宿は、一階がダイニングと囲炉裏のあるリビング、部屋は真ん中に吹き抜けがあり階段を上がった二階に囲むようにあり、道路側の由布院下界が見える部屋に宿泊、TVはなく、和室と2ベッドの14畳ぐらいに洗面所とトイレ付きの広い部屋、静かで落ち着く備品もアンティーク調で良き、お風呂は一階にあり、男女別々で8人入れば満杯になるような小ぶりなものですが、当然貸し切り状態、泉質は単純泉ですがメタケイ酸とカルシウムを含んでいるそうで肌に良い感じで温まる、源泉掛け流しかな、源泉が六十度ぐらいあるそうで熱くて水をガンガン入れて入った(笑)...
