Sleep on the street if you must, but DO NOT under any circumstances, stay at this establishment! We spent three nights here, sharing our room with roaches, mosquitoes and other unidentifiable but equally lovely bugs. There were water damage stains on the ceiling and the mold made the room very musty.||However, if you are looking to cultivate patience (or starve to death, whichever comes first) Enkare hotel is your friend. Room service is a myth. They will take your order, but despite hourly(!) reminders, your food will never be brought to you.||We were also jolted awake with phone calls from the receptionist at 7:30am asking us if there was running water in the room. One morning at 10:20am, we were rudely awakened by a loud bang on our door, and before we could get out of bed, our door was flung open and in walked a house keeper! She proceeded to inform us that she wanted to make the bed (that we were STILL sleeping in at the time of her intrusion) and clean our room! When we told her (maybe she is blind) that we were still sleeping and she has no right to burge into rooms while guests are asleep, her reply was that it was already 10am! No apology, nothing! Note, we were not checking out, we had already paid in advance! What is the point of locking your door if hotel employees can and do use a card to open and walk into your room while you are inside?!||Waiters and waitresses regularly walked into the room while we were in bed! Nothing makes me feel safer than waking up to find a strange man standing a few steps from my bed! one waitress in particular stood in the room addressing me as "my dear" and asking when we arrived because she had not seen us check in etc and telling me what time her shift ended the previous day. Why it was necessary for her to start an irelevant chat with me while my husband and i were in bed is a real mystery!||The restaurant area is also filled with random men soliciting guests for safari tours etc||However, should you stay at this establishment and you survive the roaches, mosquitoes, bugs, mold, intrusion and starvation etc, worry not- the shower short circuits all the time, so death by electrocution while taking a shower is still an available option here!||Reporting a complaint at the reception is met with indifference.||I will sooner pull my teeth than return to...
Read moreThis hotel is not as advertised in their website. It is a complete contrast. In reality, the rooms stink of damp , the paint on the walls is flaking off and there is a general sense of decay around the place. Reception staff and room attendants present as grumpy and unfriendly. To top it up, there was no running water on the last morning of our stay and I had to have a wash from a bucket! They did warm the water though😊. The restaurant is a whole different story. Great food. Very tasty. Service was a bit slow and they don’t seem to respond to the bells installed at the balcony for requesting service. Kudos to the bar man Njoroge! Great chap. Even lent me his bottle opener to use in my room. All in all I would say please stay well away if you are looking for a place to keep for the night but feel free to come round for...
Read moreHad an issue booking with Expedia because this hotel told be when I (tried to) check in that they cancelled their Expedia contract some time ago. However the staff were very empathetic and I really applaud them for that. Stayed in their Premier Suite. Slightly awkward breakfast service when we were told we could only have one sausage. This wasn't a problem but we found it quite odd. The location is really central with lots of amenity around it. Primarily for the location and the empathetic check in staff I would...
