I stayed at Hemak Suites for 2 nights, and overall the place & service is ok. The hotel building is in a very busy part of the city, which doesn’t seem too safe, and the surrounding area does get quite noisy, esp. at night. The reception is on the 4th floor and the restaurant is on the 7th floor of the building.| |The room I stayed in on the 5th floor was ok. It was clean, & the bed was comfortable enough. However, the bathroom is quite small, & it is open as there is no door. Once you enter the door to the room, the bathroom sink is to the right, then there’s the toilet & shower, but there is no door or shower curtain that separates it from the room. It’s probably ok if you’re solo in the room, but maybe not so much for two people.| |At night, I could hear loud music from the nearby bars in the area & on the 2nd night, I awoke in the middle of the night to the sound of loud music. But then, there was a power outage so the music stopped but then around 3am the circuit breaker in my room made a loud buzzing sound that had me worried. Needless to say, I couldn’t go back to sleep. The buzzing kept on all morning until the time I left, all the lights were flickering, and of course, the elevator didn’t work since there was no power. I got my stuff ready & left the room, and with little sleep, left the hotel at 6am to head for my Maasai Mara safari. I did notify the front desk about the loud, buzzing breaker in my room & told him that maybe they just need to switch them off with the power out, then check the other rooms.||As for the restaurant, the breakfast was good, & they have a good selection of food for lunch & dinner. The staff here was also friendly, as they packed a lunch for me while I visited Nairobi National Park. I would’ve had a better time here if I had gotten some sleep the night before my long drive the next day for my safari, if it wasn’t for the loud, buzzing breaker...

Read moreReally good budget accomodation but as we learnt, was the savings really worth it.||For the most part the room was comfortable except that it no fridge. That basin was leaking so every time we used it, we had to put a towel on the floor. Fixtures falling off the wall.||Although there is WiFi available and signal strength seems fine, connectivity was atrocious. Neither our mobile devices or laptop could not connect. Neither would the TV connect so not even the streaming services worked. If you are needing to work from here, make sure you have alternative connectivity options.|The suite had 2 cups and saucers, and a kettle. No microwave or fridge.||The surrounding area is noisy, but that is expected being slap bang in the city centre.||Breakfast was good and the staff service was friendly. ||As a budget option it is good accomodation, but if you need additional services like internet and refrigerator, consider...
