I recently stayed at the Madilao Hotel, and I cannot praise the experience enough. The entire staff is incredibly kind and helpful, always ready to assist with any needs. The service is impeccable, making you feel at home from the very first moment.
The breakfast is one of the hotel's highlights: a wide range of sweet and savory options, with top-quality fruit. The overall cuisine is excellent, and the chefs are notable for their kindness and professionalism.
The rooms are spotlessly clean, with daily housekeeping ensuring a fresh and tidy environment. The pool is fantastic, perfect for relaxing and soaking up the sun.
The gym is well-equipped, with ample space for bodyweight exercises and various machines to meet any fitness needs. Additionally, the hotel offers free bicycles, ideal for reaching the center in just 15 minutes, and scooters for rent for those who want to explore the surroundings more dynamically.
A unique feature of the Madilao Hotel is that the owner also has a brand of rum, the only one made entirely in Luang Prabang. This rum is excellent and pairs wonderfully with the cocktail list offered by the hotel bar.
The location of the Madilao Hotel is perfect: away from the chaos of the city center but still very close, allowing for both tranquility and convenience.
In summary, the Madilao Hotel is an excellent choice for those seeking comfort, kindness, and great value for money. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an...
Read moreI was actually between 3 and 4 stars. Madiloa has small apartments/ units with bath, balcony and spacious rooms. We chose it for quiet because we needed to do some remote work taking. Wifi was excellent. ||The big issue is that this hotel is not walking distance to center, although close to airport - but taxi to airport is ordered from the city so still expensive. They offer a free shuttle to the night market at 5 pm that returns at 9 pm. Nobody will stay at the night market that long! If it returned at 8 pm it would be perfect. ||The breakfast was overdoing catering to standard Westerners so there were fried and scrambled eggs, cereal, very liquid homemade yoghurt, nice fresh fruit, stale french style baguette from at least the prior day, white toast, and a lot of hot vegetables mixed with meat. No salad. I wish they would offer the same vegetables without the meat and the meat on the side for those who wanted it! When I complained to the (Buddhist even) attending, I received a nice vegetable stir fry so they try. The next day that was offered for all so maybe in the future, they give up on cheap and unhealthy lunch meats and offer at least 1-2 vegetable dishes - adding tofu or other vegetarian meat would...
Read moreI absolutely loved this hotel! The design was stunning, combining modern aesthetics with a touch of traditional style. The spacious room was both comfortable and beautifully designed. As a light sleeper, I truly appreciated the quiet—this is one of the few hotels in Southeast Asia I stayed where it was completely silent at night. Despite being relatively close to the airport, I never heard a single plane.||The staff was exceptional, speaking excellent English and always helpful. They genuinely cared, often asking how my day was. The breakfast buffet was another highlight, offering a mix of Western and Asian dishes, fresh fruits, and a delicious fresh smoothie.||My favorite part of the stay was the free bikes available at any time of the day. The process was simple—just register when taking a bike and sign upon return. It was an easy and scenic 10-minute ride to the city center, so I didn’t even use the free shuttle bus the hotel also provides. Overall, an incredible experience!||One improvement the hotel could make was the water in the swimming pool. It was extremely cold, to the point where it...
