First off, we have to say thanks to the staff. Noy has been wonderful to help guests with any of their questions or needs. Places to visit. Motorbike. Airline tickets. Trekking. Local favorite places. Things you don't see on the map, she knows where they are. The rest of the staff is also helpful, even when I don't speak much Lao, they do there best (and google translate is also a good bridge to language).||||Second, it is right across from the Nam Khan River. This side of the peninsula is very quiet, compared to the Mekong side. For good reasons. The tour boats are on the Mekong side and many restaurants.||||Third, this is right next to a temple. You can walk up the driveway and experience something amazing, like it's in your backyard.||Forth, the food is diverse. Want fruit to eggs to soup, they have it. They will make you something that you want.||||Short walk to the night market, other temples or the bamboo bridge.||||Overall, I've had a great experience here. Would recommend to...

We also booked our onward mini-buses and bus travel with the guest house. We have an early start, so the staff got up early for our breakfast, and even had the initiative to ask us if we wanted to choose our options the night before to speed things up -...
Read moreExcellent staff. Owner is kind and accommodating. Room is new, fresh, and clean.
Wifi and air con are very weak. The power went out a couple times, and there's no backup generator. It wouldn't have been so bad, but the preceding day it was 107°.
I would have rated the hotel much higher, but I reserved at the desk and paid with a credit card. While I wasn't charged the extra 3% Laos is notorious for, the rate I paid was 40% more than that quoted on Agoda with service charge and taxes.
This section of Luang Prabang is UNESCO site, and is priced accordingly. Food was good, but it was very overpriced at the local restaurants. Lunches and dinners were around $15 - $20 USD. The same food--with perhaps higher quality--in Chiang Mai would cost around $5.
I left...
