Owned by a local woman!!! Highly recommend staying here, especially as it is owned by the woman who grew up in this very house. Of course it has been renovated into a hotel within the last twenty years, with a few remaining pillars from the original structure (there was a flood that took away the original bamboo home a long time ago). The home has been in the same family for around one hundred years. If you have the chance to meet the owner, who was a doctor in Vientiane her entire career, you will be absolutely charmed. Her English and French are excellent as she has lived in Paris, and has travelled the world. Take the time to listen to her stories, she is a fascinating woman. |I’ll also note that this hotel is actually nicer than it looks online on photos - it’s one short block down from the main strip so very convenient location, but also quiet at night which can be hard to find in Luang Prabang especially during festivals & holidays. The room was very spacious and clean. Strong shower pressure & hot water. |Breakfast was excellent, you can sit across the street right by the river which is very relaxing & offers a beautiful view. We had the fried noodles and they were very tasty! Good strong coffee too. There are many continental options as well. |Cannot recommend enough, we loved...

Read moreThis is one of my favourite hotels in Southeast Asia. The staff are incredibly welcoming and helpful going above and beyond in anyway they can. You’re able to use the bicycles from the hotel free of charge as well as rent motorbikes if needed.||The room is incredibly clean and comfortable with no ants or mosquitos in sight (even when leaving food out). The shower is large with hot water and strong pressure. They provide a dental kit (toothbrush / toothpaste), soap, shampoo and body wash which is all high quality stuff.||The breakfast provided is an 11/10 with coffee, tea, juice and a range of options to eat including pancakes, omelettes, rice dishes and more. You will also get a small bowl of fruit and a great view of the river.||There is some construction going on at the moment in the river adjacent to the hotel, but I slept through it no problem and my girlfriend didn’t hear a thing with her ear plugs in.||I will definitely stay here again if I am ever back...
