A beautiful guesthouse. We stayed here for two weeks and it was a very comfortable stay. The staff were attentive. The owner was a great man and runs an honest business. We heard a lot about scams in Laos, it wasn't a problem here. We got an air conditioned room, an essential choice when it averages 35 degrees celsius. The king bed and pillows were comfortable. The walls were thick, we didn't hear any other guests. The room was cleaned around every other day, we were late risers and that wasn't a problem for the staff. We ordered breakfast the night before for the next day, options include eggs (scrambled, boiled, fried), noodles and rice rolls. Definitely get the breakfast, served at 7.30am, it will set you up well for the day. There are plenty of tables and chairs in the common areas. Note this guesthouse is located on the other side of the Nam Khan River, you will have to walk over the French Bridge (a bit nerve racking), Bamboo Bridge (built in the dry season) or catch the boat for 10000 kip to get into the centre of town. We loved the location because it was quiet and peaceful. During our stay the guesthose hosted a festival for the community, it was great to be included in the celebrations. When we come back to Luang Prabang we will...
Read moreBooked via expedia for 34$C a night for 4 nights.||Like the previous review, i also communicated with the hotel to arrange transport from aiport which never showed up (owner claimed he never got my response)...but he did come and pick me up fairly quickly after i called the hotel.||The hotel is very charming, with beautiful teck wood floors, and staires. The room was nice but simple, all wooden, good queen bed, but a CRT TV with limited reception and fuzzy image in 2024 is rather cheap. And the shower water was tepid.||Breakfast needed to be ordered the day before, around 3$C, and was decent, but service was a bit slow. There is a few restaurants around the area (a canadian run pizzeria where i had dinner the first night)....but this leads to location. The selling point for me was the bamboo bridge to go into town....which was not there anymore...and the boat ferry that was meant to replace it was no longer available due to a recent landslide. So the walk into town of 30 minutes was not cool. They did provide a free bike to make up for this , but crossing the French bridge would have been challenging due to...
Read moreI booked a twin room and it didn’t disappoint, the bed was just the right level neither too hard nor too soft. They provide daily cleaning and fresh change of towels. The breakdast is plated and needs to be ordered the evening before. They have a good selection of baguette and choice of how you want your eggs, other Asian breakfast choices are also available like congee or rice noodles.
Do note that this property is on the other side of the Xanamkhan river from the heritage area, so it is a bit far from where the main attractions are. But, the guesthouse provides bicycles for rent. This location does offer some advantage, it is in a “locals” area so guests have access to a local market as well as restaurants that serve truly Lao cuisines and at very affordable prices.
The property owner is friendly and quite attentive to us guests, he always asks us if we have everything we need and if there is anything they can provide.
Considering all, if and when I’ll go back to Luang Prabang in the future, I will definitely consider...
