Friendly staff, clean and spacious room for a decent price. Air conditioning worked perfectly, as did the mosquito nets.

It's about a 10 minute walk from the centre, if you take the toll bridge, which is 2,000 (only foreigners pay) for the day.

Breakfast was nice, but it would have been nice to see lighter food options. A lot of the stuff was quite heavy, for westerners.

The pool was clean and never too buzy, though I did have an incident where I was swimming and a member of staff turned off the pools lights. A bit of a heads up would have been nice, especially when I looked up he was only like 10 feet away! :D

You can hire 'buses' (actually mini vans) to other cities in Laos from Dream boutique but they literally charge you double what the ticket actually costs, and you can tickets from official booths literally one street over.

The only criticism of the rooms we used were. The first room's bathroom had a curtain, for no apparent reason between the shower and the bedroom. So it meant that any noise from the bathroom really carried into the bedroom, plus you could kinda see into the bathroom because the curtain didn't cover the gaps perfectly. Just a bizarre concept, when a full wall would have made sense.

The second bedroom's bathroom was equally as weird, where it's window directly faced outside, so other guests can easily see into your bathroom.

Ignoring the weird bathrooms, I did thoroughly enjoy staying at this resort and would...

I'd like to give 4.5 stars, you'll see why at the end of the review. Well run lovely resort with 2 pools, gardens, set slightly away from main road and city centre. Beautiful gardens with a view of the river. 1kids pool and the other with plent of loungers. Pools/area is kept clean and tidy. There are food places nearby but generally local cuisine. For a wider choice you need to go to centre, about a 20 min walk. Staff are very helpful and friendly, often stopping for a chat. Breakfast has a wide choice of traditional and western foods, plus hot/cold beverages. Our room was a nice size double, TV, fridge, balcony, tea/coffee facilities. A clothes airer is provided which is a thoughtful touch. Nice size shower both room with complimentary toiletries. We didn't have an evening meal here so review does not cover that aspect. Free airport shuttle. WiFi is rubbish and keeps cutting out but staff did try to improve by a reboot which made a difference for a short time. We had already at stayed at a different hotel in Luang Prabang for 3 days to be within walking distance of the sites before moving onto My Dream. Within an hour of checking in I found myself being bitten by mosquitoes, probably due to the proximity of the River. I'm sure the hotel could have had some repellent in the common area (as they put some in our bathroom). These 2 issues prevent my review from being given a true 5 star rating. I would still...

First of all about the hotel.|The grounds and area of the hotel are gorgeous and very tranquil. The room was nice if a little basic but we had what seemed like our own pool. |We ate at the hotel on our first night and the meal was great.|It's a bit out of town but a free shuttle bus is provided at certain times in the day. |(Little tip. Get a tuk tuk back to the old red bridge and then walk from their. Otherwise it goes all the way around.|As for the not so good. |We arrived quite late. And with no local currency, we was convinced by the night manager to exchange money with him at the hotel. I tried to change 200 English pounds.|Luckily for me, he only had enough for 100 pounds. |With my apparent lack of knowledge of Loa money, he gave me about £70 worth instead of £100.|Anyway we decided to eat in the hotel restaurant. After our meal, as we walked out, the same guy ran after us saying he had more money now, if I wanted to change the other £100. I thought he was a bit keen?|I googled the exchange rate in my room to find out that he'd ripped me off and was trying to do it again. |I later confronted him and asked for my £100 back. He had already sold it in town and made a nice little profit.|He probably tries it with every new arrival.|Anyway, after speaking to the hotel manager the next morning. I was given the extra money I was owed and he said it won't happen again. |Overall a nice hotel but change your...

There was heavy construction going on right next to our villa that started at 7 in the morning (which you could here in the whole hotel btw). In the picture you can see how close it was. Our villa on the left and the construction on the right. This really ruined our stay. We feel a bit cheated that this wasn't mentioned at all when we booked the room for 120 dollar a night. There was plenty choice of great quiet hotels for that money. We think its really criminal selling a room for that kind of money knowing heavy construction is going on right next door. We tried to speak with the general manager. But the hotel staff kept saying he will come talk to you later and the next day we heard. He was just here and left. He will come talk to you in a few hours. But he never showed at all. And sent us a staff manager instead that tried to tell us the construction was not theirs. While on their own website it said we are expanding the hotel. He did offer us free lunch which was nice but not enough. On top of that the pool was just filthy. bandaid in the water, nasty stuff floating all that. My eye was irritated for days. All in all just pick another hotel. There is plenty of good competition. No need to get frustrated with the noise and the lies like we did. did.

The staff was very kind and attentive. Breakfast was good and there are gluten-free options. The hotel is close to the airport. I would say the place is good value for money. However, the mattress dipped in the middle so my partner and I did not sleep very well when we stayed here. It hurt my back. The safe was broken in our room and we could not set a code so had to use the key which reduces the level of security seeing that we had to leave the key at the reception because there was only one key to the safe and we didn’t want to risk losing it. The hotel absolves itself of any responsibility in case your valuables go missing but we were in a situation where we had to use a key and leave it with someone at the reception. Additionally, the safe’s battery ran out and kept us awake on our last night because it kept beeping. There is a shuttle service to town but the schedule is limited to 21:30 back to the hotel so if you want to stay out late, it’s a 25 minute walk to the hotel from the night market.
