Artisan Bar — Restaurant in Luang Prabang

Dark, intimate, classic, cool, fun. Any and all of these words can describe a night time visit to the Artisan bar. Well attired handsome bartenders hand craft sophisticated cocktails from a pretty extensive menu of classics and artisanal creations. I opted to talk to the bartender, he asked me a series of questions and then built a variation of a favorite to start the night. High ceilings and interior decor give you a feeling of a larger space, but there are only 5-6 stools at the bar and one side car area that can accommodate a larger group of 10 or so, or split for two smaller groups. It's a popular spot and throughout the night new groups looked in, but had to return later as all the chairs were filled. I tried 3 cocktails across the entire evening, each carefully made, well shaken, and wonderfully presented. Drinks are fairly strong here. Highly recommend stopping in and seeing what the team prepares for you. I will definitely return on a future visit to try some of the other items...

Really high quality cocktails here. Came late March 2023 on a slow night. The three staff, one lead bartender and two apprentices, were very patient and willing to chat with us tourists, despite knowing we were just passing through. The head bartender explained that they could go off menu to create whatever flavor profile you wanted and be creative. Real mixologist. We ordered off the menu and the drinks were superb--the flavors melding perfectly. They even pre-cooled the glasses with ice before pouring the drinks in for a really cold cocktail--so nice during this time of year. Such a cool and unexpected little bar to fund down a side street in Luang Prabang.

Artisan bar is a small bar (a couple of tables plus bar stools) in a very well designed and fitted out establishment. Aircon is lovely and the whole experience is as good, if not better than being in a big city cocktail bar.

The cocktails are created by attentive bar staff who take such care over their creations, just watching them is a form of entertainment.

The cocktails are delicious and strong. Prices reflect the venue and the care put into the drinks.
