10 🌍 Today, I want to share my recent experience at a cafe that left me feeling quite disappointed. It’s important to talk about these issues and raise awareness. #Travel #CaféExperience
2/10 🚶♂️ Upon entering the cafe, I noticed an unwelcoming atmosphere right away. The staff seemed disinterested, and I couldn’t help but feel the tension in the air. #CustomerServiceMatters
3/10 😕 As an international traveler, I pride myself on embracing different cultures. However, I found that speaking any language other than Latvian was met with disdain, which was disheartening. #CulturalSensitivity
4/10 🙅♀️ It was alarming to overhear the staff making derogatory remarks about patrons who weren't speaking Latvian. This kind of behavior is unacceptable in any establishment. #Respect #Inclusivity
5/10 💰 To add insult to injury, the prices at this cafe were extremely high, especially considering the poor service and unpleasant atmosphere. Value should always match the experience. #ValueForMoney
6/10 😔 It’s sad to see a business that could thrive in a diverse environment choose instead to alienate potential customers. Everyone deserves to be treated with kindness and respect. #BusinessEthics
7/10 👎 In my opinion, a successful cafe should embrace all customers and celebrate diversity, not turn people away based on language or background. #EmbraceDiversity
8/10 📢 I’m sharing my experience not to discourage travel but to highlight the importance of inclusivity in hospitality. Let's support places that treat everyone with dignity. #TravelWithRespect
9/10 ❗️ So, unless you enjoy feeling humiliated and undervalued, I cannot recommend this cafe. There are many other wonderful places that celebrate every guest!...
Read moreIt is quite nice small shop-restaurant-café-bakery. Their bread is excellent, their baguette is the best one in Riga, their croissants amazingly delicious, wonderful eclairs. As a bakery I would give definitely 5 stars. But it is not just a bakery. As I went there, I had had their breads and croissants before, which are very, very good, so my expectations were very high. The atmosphere is nice, but it doesn't seem to have a full concept or their own style. Music did not match the style, in my opinion. It was not very comfortable to sit there...and it is not a cozy place. I prefer for breakfast more the cozy cafés (for lunch it is not so much important to have a cozy place, for me). Tables are quite near to each other, so you are sitting near to other tables and are forced to listen to their conversation. In a café-restaurant in that price category, I expected more space. Food was served very simply. There is nothing wrong with simply served food, I actually even like it. But...for a food in that price range, I do expect at least something that makes it differ from the "normal" café. Food tasted good, but it wasn't anything special. Just the slices of baguette, which were charged extra, was very good. The cappuccino was not good at all. Again, in a place like this, for a price like that, I expect at least same quality than served in the best regular cafés or even better (since price is much higher). Maybe I had too many expectations, but this would not be a place to really enjoy the meal, unfortunately. I wouldn't recommend this place for eating, but I would recommend it for...
Read moreMediocre food, terrible service! I never do bad reviews, I tend to forgive and give a benefit of a doubt. This time needs to be an exception. For others to understand, I am a physician with successful private practice in USA, well accessorized and considered beautiful looking and well mannered by others. I travelled the world and visited “ a few renowned “ eateries. NEVER IN MY LIFE I ENCOUNTERED RUDNESS COMPARABLE TO THIS ONE. Yes, place is centrally located in town easy to get to and attractively designed with an old Vanderbilt era vibe in it( hence poorly flushing toilet definitely back from 30th of previous century). Yet, you do come to experience food, breakfast in my case, since I’ve heard of their famous bread. Well, be prepared to be showered with ice cold atmosphere of the hostess/ waitress . They make sure you feel that you are not welcomed there. As if they are offended to take care of you. Later, when food is served they never come to ask how was the food, nor bother to take away your plate once you done. The only other time the girl approached me was to bring the bill, staying there till I retrieved my cc. Dear chef, your work is not to be praised. You can try your best, regretfully, it’s all in vain, for a poor training of the “field workers”. Luckily Riga is a culinary delightful city. Plenty of other...
