Please choose this hotel!!!
New, clean, friendly owners & great location. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I have decided to stay at The Mclane Boutique Hotel, Penang few days before Christmas. It was a last minute plan 😅.
#BOOKING & RESERVATION 5🌟 First, I called on the hotel mobile number to check on the availability & price. Mr Nick (owner) answered my call and booked my two nights stay at his hotel. I also requested room with a nice view.
#ARRIVAL & CHECK-IN 5🌟 After driving for 5.5 hours from Melaka, I arrive at the hotel around 9:30pm. There, I was greeted by the owners Mr Nick and his wife Mrs Tan.
They are very friendly and abide to COVID-19 Recovery MCO SOP. 👍🏻😷
#CAR PARK 4🌟 I parked my Proton X70 in front of the hotel with no extra charge.
It’s still a public road & there are some risks involved.
#THE ROOM 5🌟 The room is spacious enough for single traveler & can easily perform salat (prayer) in the room.
Comfortable, clean, tidy & everything looks new 👍🏻
As for the view, it overlooks hotel centre garden. For me it’s okay because it might get very noisy if I were to get street view.
Other amenities are also available for free:- ✅ High speed Internet (WIFI) ✅ Hot shower ✅ Safety-box ✅ Hairdryer ✅ Mini fridge ✅ Toiletries
#LOCATION 5🌟 The hotel is located very close to Georgetown main tourist attractions. I manage to explore the area on foot.
This is the number #1 reason why I’ve chosen this hotel. Georgetown traffic can get worse especially during public holiday & weekend. Choosing the right location will save a lot of precious time. Plus, it gives more motivation to walk around this World Heritage city after you have eaten delicious food in...
Read moreRecommended by a friend, I booked a room for 5days 4nights. Went to Georgetown with my fellow grad student last May 2023. ||I love this property and highly recommended. Situated within Georgetown’s core zone and very accessible to all significant sites. The property is clean and safe. The staffs were all kind and welcoming. Internet is fast too. ||Took advantage of my holiday break in graduate school and went to Georgetown for vacay and research work on the side.||My colleague left a day earlier and so I was alone on the last day. Upon checkout, I forgot that I placed my earrings on my bedside table. I only remembered it when I returned to KL. Then the following day (past 8pm i think), I called the property about my earrings. I was so scared of losing it for it’s a present from my brother. I was told the by the receptionist on duty then to call back the next day so that I can speak with the staff on duty and check with the housekeeping. Just before I thought of calling back the next day, the day shift receptionist messaged me on whatsapp asking about some details so that they can check the room and the housekeeping on duty. Before that, I asked my colleague who was with me about my earrings and she told me that she forgot to remind me but she placed my earrings in the side pocket of my back because she thought that I might missed it. Upon checking, my earrings are indeed in my bag.||Simple gestures means a lot. I appreciate the extended help of this property. A different kind of hospitality. ||I will certainly stay here again when I return to Georgetown for another...
Read moreI stayed for 11 nights I think, because it was very comfortable and there was nothing to gain from moving. My decision to take the room had a lot to do with the personality of the manager Elyn She is a dynamo and super friendly and helpful. My room was a double, upstairs, at the back and with a window. Each of these factors made a big difference in my level of comfort. I noticed things previous guests had complained about had been changed or dealt with. This is very encouraging. I enjoyed chatting with the evening receptionist Alex as well as a morning catch up with Elyn, who seems to be doing the work of several people. Staffing seems to be a world wide problem. The cleaner at Mclane does her job adequately but she doesn’t overdo the effort. The location is excellent, near enough to bars and cafes but far away enough for quiet. It’s near Little India and there are food stalls just opposite for Indian snacks and a cheap Chinese restaurant next door. It might be more congenial when the courtyard is open. I didn’t meet any other guests in my time there because there was nowhere communal, though it was pretty to look at through the windows. Definitely recommend upstairs at...
