Update: At the outset let me make it clear that we still enjoy coming to this place. The food is good and the service is friendly. But why does a latte need 30 minutes to reach my table. As has been mentioned in my previous review, and by some others, this seems to be an issue the team has not been able to surmount. The orders are delivered haphazardly to the table making it impossible to have a meal together with the family.
We also ordered the Peppermint and Lemon Iced Tea and Vanilla Caramel Milkshake which came out at different frequencies. The food - Greek Meatballs with Tzatziki Sauce, Cheesy Chicken Parmesan Meatballs and Coconut Pandan Pancakes - appeared on the table at almost 15-20 minute gaps. A pity really, because the drinks and food were really tasty. If we wanted to eat separately we wouldn't be coming in together for our meal, would we? I do not expect all dishes and drinks to come out together but this was a bit too much.
So I'm taking two stars away for this tardiness. Hope the problem can be fixed soon as we would like to return.
Older review: My family and I had read some good reviews about this cafe and decided to step in for a late breakfast. The place has a chilled out vibe and the seating was quite comfy. We ordered the Columbus breakfast, penne with cajun chicken sausage and the coconut, pandan pancakes. All three were winners though we all agreed that the pandan pancakes edged the other two just by a little. It is something really special if you are in the mood for a sweet, nutty breakfast treat. The flat white was also one of best coffees we had in a while. Kudos to the team running the place. Only point of improvement, the food took time to come out and there was quite a gap between the times that we in the family got our dishes. So one was half way or more through before the others got started. Maybe something to look into. But we soon forgot about it because the food was delicious. We shall be...
Read moreLong story..Went there in a group of 10. We were the only customers in the restaurant The waiter served the wrong food twice for what we had ordered and when we tried to clarify on the food like which was which as its our first time there, the waiter was impatient and his attitude wasn't pleasant, he was like debating with us by saying that he repeated the orders before he placed the orders into the system. But, upon checking with their online menu, he realised he had placed the wrong order. Also, I ordered Fettuccine, in fact 3 of us had ordered the same Fettuccine at 7:30pm, my 2 friends got their orders by 8:30pm but mine only arrived a short while before 9pm. I ordered coffee too but only came around the same time as my food. The waiter didn't apologise on initiative until I commented its a one hour pasta cuz I had been displeased with the waiter's attitude towards his mistakes (by this time, he had made numerous mistakes and didn't seem to realise he's wrong but instead defended himself.) Between 7:30pm to 9pm, the waiter had given us the wrong food twice, debated with us when we tried to clarify the orders and served my food very late. When we were going to pay, he asked us to check the bill and we realised that he had put wrong pax for the water we ordered, we ordered 3 pax, but he put 5pax. So, we told him and before he even checked the bill to see if he had made the mistake, he told us that's what we ordered and he just keyed in the system. Why couldn't he just check the bill first before defending himself? He then amended the bill and despite seeing all how displeased we all were, he and his restaurant crew (they were at the cashier) never apologised or seemed sorry for the bad experience we had. It's an eye opening experience for me to have dined in this place and though the food is quite good, I will never step in...
Read moreThis is such a complicated review for me. The staff is very welcoming, which we liked and helped to make sure there was a fan on us. They explained a lot about the menu and why certain choices had been made.
Coming from California I have low expectations about Mexican food outside of Mexico and LA. I tried one of their burritos and it was exactly what I expected. A unique take on the burrito. It was quite good so long as you don't expect authentic food.
We also ordered Teh Tarik for the first time both the hot and iced versions. The hot version is better. This restaurant still has had the best Teh Tarik I've had throughout multiple different places now.
My wife got the Alfredo Fettuccine with Crispy Chicken. While the sauces and noodles were good she wasn't as happy with the chicken. She couldn't quite put her finger on it but it was almost not quite cooked enough?
There was another confusing moment where they offered me a compliment muffin. I declined and they suggested that I could take it with me instead. I agreed. The muffin never appeared. I also didn't ask about it again though.
On my way out they asked for a review which always feels tacky to me. There's also the weird replies on many reviews where they state the plate was empty when they left. I know my wife's wasn't completely empty but she ate most of it because from our experience most restaurants in Asia don't want to take food back if a guest is unhappy. I don't know if that's the case here... just why she ate most of it but couldn't finish it.
Again the Burrito was an excellent take...
