This is the oldest Hindu temple in Penang. The temple has two facades, facing two streets (Jln Masjid Kapitan Keling and Queen St.). The Queen St. side is more beautiful and open to visitors. It is also close to Little India, where many Indian people live and do business.
Indian temple architecture is well-known for its tower-like structures adorned with intricate sculptures of deities on the facades. Although this temple may not compare in size and detail to the Hindu temples in India, it still features typical architecture. It is quite small and dark inside. There are a few Indian worshippers sitting in prayer. Because I follow a different religion and also saw no other tourists entering, I hesitated and decided not to go inside, just took photos of the outside.
