Nasi Kandar Beratur Original — Restaurant in George Town

This Nasi Kandar Beratur Original is really great for late dinner. Fresh cooked food starting 10.00pm. Yess dead serious. This shop open from 10.00pm to 830am the next day. The food and rice will be cooked from somewhere else and bring to the shop before 10.00pm. I think the shop will add up the food once any dishes nearly finish (think so). As I was there by 9.20pm and waiting the shop to open, then I can see this smooth restaurant exchange process. Daytime from 9.00am to 9.30pm, the same place and the same shoplot, was used by another restaurant named Nasi Kandar Masjid. By 9.30pm, the nasi kandar masjid crew start cleaning and packed up everything including the leftover dishes, chairs and tables. Then just the crew for Nasi Kandar Beratur will start arranging the new fresh cooked food and dishes trays, chairs and tables to start their business. Just imagine that two different restaurants operates at the same place but different operation hours. Not sure either same or different owner or just business strategies to attract customers. By the way its located just beside Masjid...

From those days till today this nasi kandar eatery are still favourite for the local & tourist too👍🏼 Their stall located just outside the famous Kapital Kling Mosque it is just an ally kinda stall. An open air seating concept. Around 9:30pm people will start queuing up as the stall will start operating by 10pm till after midnight. Be patient to wait for your turn & don’t worry they will replensih their dishes from time to time. Food quality very delicious. Not on the spicy side not so much. Portion are big. Price wise kinda reasonable . I paid RM32 for two plates of rice & few drinks. Ambience: I am not too impress though. Used to be very clean. Perhaps high time they keep the place cleaner✌️ Service wise they are friendly & patient with customers. Don’t simply park by the roadside or else u will be fine...

I have never tried Nasi Kandar before no matter how many times I visited KL (which makes sense, because it came from Penang from my understanding) I've known this place by the local themselves after late drinking night.

And I GOT HOOKED! It might not look tasty or the place looks sketchy a bit since it's opening until late-morning but the food is AMAZING!

This place is located not far from Chinatown/party area in Penang. Well located, not hard to find. The only one thing I lowkey dislike about it, is the beverage guy, he seems sketchy about the drink price. However, the food stall itselves is great. Not expensive and super yummy!!!
