Don't stay at this hotel it's terrible. It's dirty, broken, run down and the staff are unfriendly and unhelpful. We arrived early and they refused to allow a early check in they wanted to charge a full days rate for 2 hours early. We finally decided to leave our things and go explore. Upon our return at 2pm we got surprised by the additional charge of 150 Ringet over and above the initial price that we booked on the bookings.com site. The room was never serviced for the duration of our stay. We had to ask each day for toilet paper, coffee sugar etc. The TV was broken the curtains falling off, the windows does not close because they are broken the bedding had blood spots on them. I'm Greatful I travel with my own spare set of pillow covers and a sheet. Dirt all over walls carpets looks like a contraction site. Staff doesn't greet let alone help you. I've dug deep to find something good to say and sad but true there is not one thing I could find. Thank God we did not allow this to dampen our visit to George Town as is could very easily...
Read moreIf you are solo female traveler, STAY AWAY from this place. IT IS NOT SAFE. At midnight, there's a group hanging at the corridor, drinking beers. When called front desk multiple times there were no people answer. I had to called the landline property only for the front desk told me, 'Ok, You Go Out And Tell Them'. Can you imagine, a front desk personal tell a lone female to go out from her room and tell off a group of beer drinking group of 5-6 people, effectively telling them there a lone female in the room. The noise continue till 3AM without any action from management and you can only imagine how scared I was inside the room, feeling helpless. The noise continues 6AM in the morning. Check out right away. STAY AWAY. The front desk does not check who goes in and out, you can book one room and squeeze in 10people and it would...
Read moreOld hotel in a historic city. Sounds good, hey, well, not so here. Looks good at first, nice reception area and then you get the patronising receptionist, then to a room euphemistically called a Queen Room. It was probably last cleaned at Queen Victoria's Coronation. The threadbare carpets looked as they were laid around the same time. Yes the advertised TV turned on/off and displayed a blue picture but never anything else. The air-conditioner worked, but only just, at least it was quiet. There must have been an error in the advertised size of room. They meant sqare feet but advertised square metres. Then enquire bathroom, well I have no words that could adequately describe it. The shared bathrooms were next to our room and kept us entertained with the noises emminating from same. WARING Avoid the hotel like you...
