Kyrin Izakaya — Restaurant in George Town

One of the rare occasions I post negative reviews.. Very bad experience with this place. Had dinner there.. Table of 6pax with pre reservations made.

Food took nearly 1 hour to arrive!

Drinks which was simple green tea and no alcohol cocktails didn't even arrive until 45mins in.. And I had to ask the waiter WTF is going on.. Then only they delivered.

They also missed out 1 of our dishes which was not captured in the order.

Their staff were so busy no drinks refills were made. I had to walk to the counter to grab the hot and cold green tea jugs to refill my own table drinks. Only later on in the night when the crowd thinned out did they start refilling our drinks.

But the food and presentation is good. Taste is nice.

However I won't be going back here again... There's a lot more Japanese restaurants in penang.

I had an amazing experience at Kyrin Izakaya! The ambiance was fantastic, creating a very pleasant and inviting environment, perfect for a relaxing chill-out. The staff was attentive and friendly, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. As for the food, I was blown away by the delicious flavors and high-quality ingredients used in each dish. Whether you’re a sushi lover or prefer hot dishes, Kyrin Izakaya offers a wide variety of options that won’t disappoint. And let’s not forget their excellent selection of Japanese beers, which complemented the meal perfectly and added to the overall experience. I highly recommend trying their Izakaya . Overall, it was a delightful dining experience, and I can’t wait to visit again for some great Japanese...

Came for the food but left with such an amazing culinary experience especially for those who have been to Japan and tastes the food there.

Great service

Service with a smile, friendly and inviting. Ambience is very high class, i never knew izakayas could look like a fine dining restaurant.

Amazing quality food

Had the ikura don and the hotate don, portion of seafood was super generous. At rm 75 and rm 85 plus being seafood lovers i really enjoyed it. Also had the yakitori of bacon with enoki. Really nicely smoked, deep umami flavor and delicious sauce.

For any wasabi lovers, do be warned their wasabi is authentic and hits harder than malaysian standard wasabi. Dont eat too...
