Dear Mr. Melvin Ooi and Team The Prestige Penang,

The Prestige Penang - which does not need any reviews as it excels in each and every aspect. Be it grandeur, luxury, variety, comfort, enchantment, indulgence, elegance one loves every thing about it. For no reason just feel like visiting again and again and again. True enough , we had begun our journey with The Prestige Penang since August 2023 and been returning every 2 months with a at least a -day stay each stay, the recent being last week.

We particularly chose The Prestige Penang, as we had always been fascinated with everything about it , which has been known for the luxurious experience that it offers. The moment we entered the hotel, we had a warm welcome by the entrance by some htel staff , and still impressed seeing the opulence architecture, right from the marble flooring to the unique chandeliers everything had a royal essence to it. A special mention to the wonderful and professional Duty Manager Mr. Fareez who was at the entrance and had ensure the seamless check-in experience and his wonderful colleagues Mr Ismail who was very knowledgeable, taught us about all the experiences and led us to our beautiful rooms, they gave us an experience of royal living. The rooms that we booked had the perfect balance of luxury and nature as it had a beautiful garden view from where we were able to see some famous buildings in Penang City Centre, Menara Komtar was spotted as well, and the interiors had a very aesthetic luxurious architecture which was very cosy, the moment we entered the room it made us feel like we have stepped in a different world altogether.

My family and I have fallen in love with this place over and over again ever since our first stay. After some years of experience in the hospitality and tourism industry, we've always put emphasis on service delivery and brand marketing. Congratulations, you've done it well positioning the brand to where it is today !

There's a reason why we love The Prestige Hotel Penang. The service all this while have been consistently excellent, we always end up spending at least 3 nights stay each time, latest being our recent stay in December 2023, where we were served mostly by the following officers :

Front / Reception : Mr Fareez, Mr Ismail,

Security / Bell Boy : Mr. Raj and Mr Kusha & Mr Sunil (at the entrance & concierge)

F & B : Mr. Jeeva Murugan, Ms Adibah, Mr.Anuar , Ms Nadia, Mr Dipak, Mr Lee, Mr Izuddin, Mr Anup, Mr Mr Mr Rabin,

Kitchen – Mr Sean, Mr Patrick, Mr Simran, Mr Shameer

Housekeeping : Ms Hanis, Mr Shohan, Mr Achmad

Overall such a magical experience ! Impeccable service consistently by all of them with proactive actions ! They deserve a recognition / bonus / promotion for the consistent imppecable service ✨

Kudos and well done to GM Mr Melvin Ooi of The Prestige Hotel Penang for the impeccable service and excellent leadership, stewardship ! Well done !! Also deserve a recognitiin, promotion and good bonus 👍🏻👏🏻 ✨

Congratulations GM Mr Melvin Ooi, Team Leaders/ Supervisors , and team members - for always bringing joy through your hard work and dedication all this while by giving the best to your customers. We wont forget such magical , lovely experience ♡

Congratulations too for such wonderful, beautiful homegrown branding of high quality products, services with consistent innovation, dared to be different with sophisticated , modern design throughout the building with emphasis on green sustainability, which we have proudly mentioned and promoted to others including to high level officials.

We will keep on promoting the brand to families, friends as much as how we love and proud of it. And shall be returning very soon ! Keep up the good work

Thank you very much for all your kind assistance recently and generosity throughout !

Happy 2024 !!!

Best regards,

Dr. R D D Z

A compliment and a concern by a Marriott-Bonvoy member:

Compliment: Thank you very much for the helpfulness and support of all staff - Zain, front desk personnel and especially those at the Glasshouse over breakfast). We enjoyed the hotel facilities, atmosphere and comfort during our 3-day stay.

Concern: The hotel had arranged transport for us with a local limousine company to take us around for a day (6th Mar) which went well. But the driver then told us that he could take us out to Ipoh for a day trip on 7th Mar indicating that he knew the place very well. Since our day trip around Penang went well, we said yes assuming that conditions would remain the same and the driver indeed has good knowledge of where we're going. Unfortunately: 1/ the driver obviously does not know the roads nor any places of interest in Ipoh. I had to Google and direct him on my own GPS as to what to do and where to go. 2/ At the first stop in Ipoh, he suddenly mentioned that the rate is higher as we had gone out of Penang. No substantial increase was mentioned, so I just assume the hourly rate of RM70 per hour would just be a bit higher which would be fine. When we checked out of The Prestige today (8th Mar), we were shocked to find out that the trip to Ipoh was at something like RM200 per hr instead of RM70. There is absolutely no reason for such a huge increase - no major tolls, etc - simply an attempt to gouge unsuspecting customers. I was most disgusted by the fact that it was a lie from the driver to indicate a good knowledge of Ipoh and there was never any indication at all that the cost would be something like 3 times the cost! We would have said no to going in the first place if we had known. The Front Desk person at The Prestige Hotel was kind enough the reduce the cost of this trip to Ipoh by 50%. I mentioned that it is just not right on principle for the Transport company to try to charge such exorbitant prices under erroneous guise. On principle alone, The Prestige Hotel should reconsider using such a company using...

A Culinary Oasis in Georgetown: The Prestige Hotel

Penang's vibrant heart held a haven of sophisticated comfort – The Prestige Hotel. Stepping through its doors, one was greeted by not just impeccable service and stylish surroundings, but by the promise of an unexpected culinary adventure.

Sure, the Prestige offered the expected amenities – plush rooms, attentive staff – but the true star of the show resided within its walls: Gen, the hotel's acclaimed restaurant. Here, Chef YC wasn't merely preparing meals; he was composing symphonies on plates. Each dish, a meticulously crafted haiku of flavor and texture, resonated with the essence of Malaysia. From the playful "Tamarind, Mackerel, Peppermint" to the memory-evoking "Pineapple, Soy Sauce, Pandan Coconut," every bite was an invitation to a deeper exploration of the island's culinary heritage.

But the Prestige wasn't just a gateway to fine dining experiences within. Stepping outside its doors, one found oneself mere steps away from a smorgasbord of delicious discoveries. The hotel's convenient location, nestled in the heart of Georgetown, placed guests at the epicenter of Penang's vibrant street food scene.

A short stroll down the road might lead you to The Glasshouse, the hotel's own casual dining outlet, offering a delectable fusion of local and international cuisine. Or, perhaps, curiosity might guide you towards the hidden gems tucked away in the labyrinthine streets – a steaming bowl of Penang assam laksa, a plate of fragrant char kway teow, or a cup of the city's iconic teh tarik.

First impression was excellent. The facade and the staff who welcome us really wow us. The staff were not rushed in dealing with us. Friendly and courteous is as expected of a hotel this class. However, worth mentioning is the thoughtfulness of all the staff, from the counter staff, to the porter to the security. They are simply wonderful. Interestingly, the welcome drinks are several classes above average. There is a long list to select from and all in the comfortable glass cafe. The room is expectedly beautiful and clean. What was clever is the complementary mini bar items and nepresso coffee which is refilled daily. Why clever is because most visitors would not finish the entire fridge daily. 🤪 But the generosity and hospitality is really heart warming. This is the only and the first hotel I have stayed with free to watch movies on demand. Not that we stay here for the movies, but it’s a welcome feature. The shower area is good and functional and it is good design to have the toilet in a separate place. The glass shower area does add some inconvenience and insecurity for a family. Though that was over come by the curtain. 🤪 We booked a room for two adults and an older child. What was impressive is not an additional bed but a small room by itself. My teenage daughter was clearly delighted when she saw that and enjoyed her privacy throughout our stay. And it allows me to work in the main area without being disturbed. The location of the hotel is ideal for us. Situated at a corner of George Town, away from the hustle and bustle but yet near enough to walk to food establishment etc Highly recommended for those like us with kids in tow and also treasure quietness and the unrushed vibes. Perfect for a retreat and yet still have to work a bit. 👍🏻

As a Titanium Elite, what is guaranteed -Late check out -Welcome drinks x2 What is not -Upgrade is subject to availability. In my case only 1 tier up to Executive when there’s still Premier & Suite available Why I would not stay here again -Bad Marriott perks -Zero recognition as Marriott Elite members, upon check in you’re being treated as if you’re coming here to nab treats. They obviously don’t know how much we have spent to get to the tier and that’s why Marriott hotels make the effort to retain loyal customers. Here they are indirectly telling their loyal customers to f off. -No breakfast, not even provided to select -Unwelcoming staffs. Other than the guy who led us to parking nobody else really cared -Staff at FO supposed to get back to me on lounge & he did not. I showered, steamed my clothes, dried my hair. 2 hours still no call. When I went down to ask he said he call. So are you telling me you’re late or your phone is not working? Such a simple thing yet can’t fulfil. -Yes no lounge access too! -Glasshouse Chinese staff. I asked when was the bottle open he said he will check. Then he served and didn’t bother to answer. I asked again he either didn’t hear/pretend not to hear or ignored my questions. -Upon check in I asked if this is a quiet room. But heck the most important thing is the NOISE! Expect SUPER LOUD music until 3am. DAILY. Lion dance at 11pm when CNY is already over!! And there was some charity event and noise started again friggin 7am. I didn’t sleep well at all for one day. Why would they charge RM600per night when I couldn’t even sleep??? -To be fair they changed my room for 2nd night as an improvement plan. Service was much better 2nd day onwards. But it doesn’t change my perception of this hotel… sadly
