So good I visited twice in 3 days 👀🥰
1st visit was after a particularly exhausting road trip & visited after lunch hour, around 3:30pm on a public holiday because they were the only place open. Service was impeccable, very attentive to the customers' needs without needing to specifically say anything. They served us 2 small bowls so we could share our order (1 ramen & 1 gyoza) Ramen was great - signature charsiu was flavorful and complements the tonkatsu broth well. Ramen cooked just right. Cured egg was perfection. Gyoza was average though I was never a fan of gyoza anyway (they all taste the same to me).
2nd visit - went there on a weekday, service still remained excellent. To my surprise, there was a lunch menu - main dish (rice dish or ramen), chili oil gyoza, drinks & ice cream! Thought the portions were going to be smaller but I was wrong. The ramen quality did not deviate from my first visit, the chili oil gyoza was excellent. The chili oil was fragrant, flavorful & mildly spicy but not overpowering. A great accompaniment for the gyoza. Set lunch also comes with drinks and ice cream. The ice cream served was matcha ice cream - unexpected because usually shops give out cheap vanilla or chocolate ice cream.
Got their membership (RM30; lifetime) at the end of my meal because I can see myself coming back often, especially on...
Read moreHidden gem Ramen Cafe in Penang, along the heritage complex. To reach there turn left into small road, off from Lebuh Pantai, beside Alliance Bank. Good food but non halal but reasonable price. Fast serving, set lunch/dinner or Ala carte. Friendly and helpful staffs, good service. Signature dishes, set will include choice of broth, side dish and drinks on your choice plus ice dream (dine in only). Casual cafe, cozy area and other part is semi rustic w/ Japanese decors. My fave is Chasu Ramen w/ Supreme/Spicy soup. Rich broth and not too thick, just nice. See below what we tried. Ample parking is available, entrance is the same with exit road. Very recommended!
⭐️ Set of Chasu Ramen w/ Supreme Broth, Gyoza + Americano RM28.90: supreme means spicy broth, nice broth with a bit kick of spiciness, Chasu is delicious and buttery, creaminess is good. Gyoza is also good and crispy skin. Must try! ⭐️ Set of Fried Chicken Ramen w/ Black Garlic, Tamago Yaki, + Honey Lemon drink RM 32.90: nice broth, black garlic gives more flavour. Fried chicken is crispy and tasty, love this piece. ⭐️ Chasu Tsukemen w/ Original Tonkatsu (pork) broth RM 23.90: soup is separated, nice broth soup, springy ramen noodle. All ramen has Onsen egg and slices ear fungus as topping. 🥟 Gyoza Ala carte RM 15.90: crispy skin and tasty...
Read more3/4/2025: I am here again, trying out their set lunch, very good. The portion is the same as alacarte, that means they don't reduce the portion just because they packaged with sides and drinks. Very good businessman indeed. But today a little disappointed with their ice cream, only one flavour, no choice. That shown the manager or buyer didn't do a proper forecast or no forecast at all. Most importantly my mother-in-law is happy with her meal.
