In 2017 I went to Penang to complete management course organized by Bangladesh and Malaysia government both. Then I visited this museum. The Penang Trick Art Museum, located at Lebuh Penang, Georgetown which is known as the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Georgetown, Penang is currently experiencing a period of rapid expansion and new museum will allow the growing city to define itself as a regional hub for arts. The 3D Trick Art refers to a technique that transforms 2-dimensional painting into 3-dimensional images. With the 2D paintings on the walls, floors and ceiling appears to pop up on the surface and come to life. The museum is an interactive museum with a concept that stimulates creativity and imagination. There will be 2 themes in our museum’s exhibits, namely all about Penang Life and Modern Classic. This theme will definitely portray the daily life of Penangites and bring the stories that are present in the heritage to a broader group of visitors.Guidance and assistance will be provided by instructions beside the artworks or personnel in the museum to ensure visitors take the best possible photos. I was underwhelmed with my visit to the 3D museum in Penang. It is simply a bunch of not too great 2D paintings with shadows that are supposed to make your photos 3D (not true).
It costs RM25 per person. There is a person who would help you take a few photos on your phone in the first area of this museum. (First two exhibits).
They help you because they want to take a few photos so they can sell you copies at the end, which is fine but honestly, their photography skills is questionable.
The room that I really wanted to take photos has a Van Gogh replica (starry night) in it and makes a tall person shorter than a short person. But that room was closed.
I would not want to visit the 2nd time. Really not worth the money. I would highly recommend Upside Down Museum instead.

Read moreTricks of mine didn't run high, wild or climb the coconut even before I stepped into Penang 3D Trick Art Museum. No. I am not a virgin to 3D Museum. Korea 3D Museum, Langkawi 3D Museum (Part 1 & Part 2) and Jogyakarta 3D Museum at the back and in front of my travelling legs and hands already. Yet, I made it a point in visiting Penang 3D Trick Art Museum. I was already within the same vicinity and if I didn't pop by, don't you think I would have been a loser to Penang sightseeing hunting? Will Penang 3D Museum take a page on my travelling diary? Langkawi 3D Museum is still the untouchable show stealer, basically any 3D Museum is for social media pictures speaks louder than words. Fun posey-mosey endless picturing. Your kids I believe will love it, god, even adults these days are crazily trending picturing madness. As in Wonderfood Museum, solo travellers or married solo travellers like myself, either you show off your selfing skills or the staff won't ditch you aside...
