Hi everyone. This is my review of hotel 19. I stayed for four nights in November 2024. I will start with the elder man who is at the front desk. He was rude when I was checking in several times. He was demanding I pay a tourism tax as soon as I checked in but I already paid online when I booked. The hotel never verified whether it was paid already or not so they charged me twice! He demanded I go to an ATM 5am, outrageous. I had to show him how to use his own machine so that I can pay him using debit card tap to pay. He didn't even believe it worked. He also laughed at me when I said I lost my debit card, not professional . In the first room they booked me it was infested with ants. The video will be in the review. They were even crawling on me in my bed 🤢 🐜. The wifi in this hotel is terrible. If you are a professional and attend meetings online it won't even work for that. It will disconnect constantly. If you want to download apps or photos on wifi it will not work either 📶 The lack of common things such plates 🍽️ or even utensils in that hotel is unacceptable. If you ask for a bowl, a plate, a spoon, or a fork, they will tell you they do not have any in the entire hotel!?! A microwave for guest ? They don't have it. This one of the worse hotels I have stayed in at Georgetown.

Horrible experience when I have booked Grand King Room, but when I enter In room I was given a twin bed room when I actually paid for king room. Talked to the staff who saw the mistake and contacted the supervisor, staff suggested can give us family suit which is a single bed. But supervisor refused. It was their mistake that they overbooked and they forced me to take a twin bed room. No other solutions. No use when staff is nice to me when I didn't even get the room I paid for. Contacted Agoda, agoda also gave solution of full cancellation or change property. This would disrupt my travel plans so I was force to stay in such a room that I didn't agreed or paid for. The management of this hotel is by Victoria hotel located right behind this hotel. Such a bad experience, anyone looking at this just beware and don't be tricked by the nice room or view, u might not get what u booked for, and the hotel doesnt care when they ruin ur stay. PS. I hand draw a no disturb/room service sign to put on my door as they were none given. Once I put that on.. then only hotel staff hang a actually one on my door.

A basic budget 5-storey hotel that's very conveniently located opposite the Jetty Bus Terminal in Georgetown. You can easily take the free CAT bus there that will loop at Komtar, or other feeder buses that go to Ayer Itam and Balik Pulau. The room is beautifully furnished, and there's the stuff you come to expect in a hotel. The bathroom is very spacious as well. The TV connects to CineMax, CNN and a Chinese news channel. There's also free WiFi for guests (the password is reset and given to you daily because they were hacked in the past). One of the rooms my family booked had an uncontrollable aircon (the remote just resets back to 25 degrees celcius). It can get really cold at night that way. There's unfortunately no breakfast available despite its advertising, so you'll have to head out to get some. There's unsheltered parking just around the corner but its very easy to miss and can only be accessed from the side of the hotel without any easy u-turn. If you see the traffic crossing and bus terminal across the street, be prepared to slow down and turn when you drive in.

A shelter place to sleep with very basic necessities, don't expect much, dollar and cents hotel (stingy/calculative). Below are my encounters during my recent stay. room design nothing to impressive about (no peranakan design, don't bluff), wear & tear found in the room, suspect the technician didn't do their checking & repairing job, on off switch is malfunction, hair dryer from 90s and sometime function sometime is not function when you move the wire by a bit it will disconnect, toilet seat cover not able to lift up and will keep dropping, cleaner supervisor (botak aunty) seems deaf and ignore/ forget customer request (talking to the cat/dog I sound wiser). Then they didn't refill me shampoo and body wash as they saw some leftover still have from last night. All I can say is this is a very cost saving budget hotel. They check and control every of their inventory very details. I'm not sure if this kind of company policy will make their client happier coz I tried to request water bottle from them, they reject my request. Drinking Water bottle cost most is 20-30cents only especially when you order in bulk and not those atas branded brand. Aunty, sometime if you follow by book too much, I don't know if this is the reason you get botak. Be happy ok aunty? Room without tooth brush, so very cost saving ya, so guys please bring your own buy yourself outside, this is what they mean. Save cost save cost save cost until room no door bell & "do not disturb" signature made no available. haha. And to my surprise one of the day, they forget to clean up my room/house keeping til I need to reach out to the counter for this simple request, what a coincidence right. Haha. Another thing is, I understand the hotel WiFi connection is already super weak (disconnect & reconnect especially at night), hotel policy require guest to keyin new Wifi password everyday, it's good policy to avoid outsider keep login to hotel WiFi else the connection for the guest will weaker but a bit non sense to me. hotel room only one card per room, definitely is to avoid you from contributing to their high electricity bill. Maybe you can help to get their staff active also, leave your room card inside the room and let the staff open the door for you when you are back to hotel. oh ya, there is a phone in the room but wait, there is no call list provided in the room, no wonder receptionist quite free coz no one will call service counter to disturb them haha. Btw room facing wall (deluxe), so couple who like privacy can open your window big big but hor, don't forget the sound proof system here is not good hor, you can easily hear the next door plug in their plug/socket or talking at hallway or door slamming sound, other than this kind of sound, you own selves go listen listen lah. Haha. I still can't accept they spent heavily on the hotel lobby renovation/design but when you enter your room it is two different concept and class. Those with big and many luggages bag do mind that they have few stairs you to need climb before getting into lift. After writing so much, I really hope the hotel management/the boss read my comment and improvement after this.

However, must thanks this hotel also for having a strategic location to the place of interest (chew jetty, art wall, eating places, bus terminal just Infront of the hotel). Also thanks them having quite sufficient space for car park. Counter staffs are friendly and helpful too. Room is actually quite spacious. Cleanliness okay*. Walk in price for deluxe/Twin bed is...

I rarely write negative reviews, but this experience was beyond frustrating and disappointing. I stayed at this hotel from 10th to 12th July 2025, and I regret every bit of it.

There was absolutely no hot water in the room. I reported the issue multiple times, but the staff just brushed it off and insisted that the “slightly warm” water is considered hot—which is ridiculous. Even after repeated complaints, they did nothing and showed no intention to resolve the problem. It felt like they simply didn’t care. They ask me to wait to tomorrow morning or noon or the maintenance. They don't even one to give me another room as an exchange.

I arrived at 4:15 PM, expecting both of my booked rooms (one for myself and sister, one for my parents) to be ready. Shockingly, I was told to wait 30 minutes because one of the rooms was still occupied by the previous guest. This is unacceptable. Only after I raised my voice and demanded a refund did they reluctantly provide the other room.

The hotel’s parking is inconvenient and risky. It's located at the back of the building and barely fits anything larger than a compact car. If you're driving a sedan, SUV, or MPV—think twice. The tight space increases the risk of your vehicle getting scratched or hit and run

This place might work for solo travellers or backpackers with low expectations, but if you're coming with family, especially elderly or kids, do yourself a favour and stay elsewhere. Poor management, lack of basic amenities, and unhelpful service make this hotel a stressful and unpleasant experience.

This hotel is poorly managed, customer service is appalling, and the basic necessities like hot water are not even guaranteed. Save your money, avoid the frustration, and choose a better place.

Very bad service from the receptionist boy who work on night shift on 26th Dec 2015. We had ask for a parking reservation with another receptionist girl and however she did not inform her colleague during the exchange shift and caused us to waited for almost 45mins for parking as we reached late about 1.45am midnight. However, no solution was given and we were asked to park our car and blocking all other cars. The reason given to us when we ask the receptionist boy why is our parking lot being parked by other car although we already asked for parking reservation before we were out for dinner on that night, the receptionist said he do not know anything as he was no being informed that the parking lot is being reserved. This is very bad communication among the management side and caused us so much trouble as a hotel guest! The reason given by the receptionist boy is he cant disturb other hotel guest by moving the car from the reserved parking lot but he can disturb me this hotel guest early in the morning to wake up and move my car give way for other car. This is so unreasonable. I have requested to talk to on-duty manager but still no solution was given to me and we have to wait at the roadside for almost 45mins in the middle of the night just for the management to come out a solution and yet no solution was given and we were ask to park at a place where our car is blocking the way out. The receptionist boy even gave us very rude attitude when I requested him to call his manager. This shouldn't happen to a...
