Our breakfast spot during our 2-day trip in a group of 8, and was lucky to be able to get a table to accommodate us all during breakfast time!
📱Ordering was done online, which made for an easy ordering process since we could all submit our individual orders separately
⏰ our food also came in no time at all, mostly in sequence of when we ordered, less those fried options
🍝 noodles were unique, and had a unique flavour to it - it did also come with very tasty sides, especially the tofu with minced pork (which had a very strong XO taste when you bite on it, loved it!). One weird thing with the order was the differentiation between the chilli pan mee and the non spicy version, which only saw the ingredients being different since you could flavour your dish based on how spicy you liked it to be with the chilli sauces available on the table - definitely opt for the non spicy one
The fried dishes were generally good too, again standing out was the tofu dish, and especially the fried barracuda fish which was super tender!
Been awhile since I have had a good breakfast in JB, definitely one that i will be revisiting a lot...
Read moreIt's lunchtime, and we're exploring the area to decide what to eat. We happened to walk past Uncle Fook, and at first, we thought we'd just settle for it since there weren't many options around. We didn’t have high expectations, but the food surprised us.
The handmade noodles were really good. I’ve always loved Mee Hoon Kueh, but many places have disappointed me. Now, I’ve finally found a place with delicious Mee Hoon Kueh! The texture was soft and chewy. Not the usual thick, powdery, floury texture. My husband had the chilli noodles with the thin noodle option. I tried a bite, and it was really good too. The chili was tasty, the noodle comes plain, so you can add the amount of chilli to your own preference.
We were almost done eating when I remembered to take photos as I never thought I’d be writing a review! They even give kids Yakult for free. So sweet of them. We’re definitely...
Read moreWanted to try this a few weeks back but reached the place too late and they were closed for the day. Happened to come in JB and decide to drop by for lunch. Reached the place around 12noon and the place was relatively packed. Almost all the tables were taken. Ordering is done via scanning of the qr code on the table.
Ordered the chili noodle set which was MYR$18 plus. Apart from the standard noodle, it also came with 3 pieces of deep fried Yong tau foo. Noodle was nicely cooked, texture of the noodle was springy. Sauce was rather bland and the portion was relatively small. The Yong tau foo on the other hand, was pretty good, it was pipping hot when served and goes well with their chili sauce.
Overall, there is room for improvement in terms of the noodle. For that portion and quality, it is considered a bit expensive. Would I...
