Overall, i find the dining experience pretty pleasant. The ambience was dark and cozy and there was not many people in that restaurant (i think there were only 2-3 tables of customers including us) For the food, we were given a complimentary roasted/grilled cauliflower as a starter which i really love alot. It was well seasoned and had that charred taste to it so it covers the raw cauliflower taste. We also ordered the lobster bisque which was alright. I would prefer it to be alittle more creamy and maybe the alcohol taste to be stronger (just my opinion) however i didnt like the fact that the lobster in the soup was alittle stale; it lacked texture and just felt like it was frozen lobster at best The crab cake was alright, i couldnt really taste much of it potentially due to the aftermath of drinking the lobster bisque. My mouth was just filled with the 'prawny' taste For the mains, i ordered an organic steak and personally i didnt really enjoy it since there were tons of tendons in the steak. I had to cut off a significant chunk of steak since they were just all tendons which were un-chewable. My friend ordered 230g of 8+ marbling steak and it had so much fats in it that he almost puked at the end of the meal. Personally i think that the 8+ marbling steak should be shared between 2 people rather than just 1 since the amount of fat in it is really overwhelming. For all the food mentioned above (including 2 cups of coffee/tea) it was almost 1000rm so i feel it is pretty expensive. While the quality of food is there, the taste is at best slightly above average. Will i visit here again? i would still say yes but i wouldnt order the organic steak but i would still order the marbling steaks though i would share it between 2 people and try their pasta dishes too.
Visited this place 2 more times and for both times i had their pasta dishes; first is squid ink pasta and the second is aglio olio. While it is a pretty expensive bowl of pasta ($115 rm), i think the taste slightly makes up for it. I remember we had to wait for around an hour just for the bowl of pasta since we didnt make a reservation and walked in just like that. However they gave us a complimentary dessert (lava cake) as a form of apology for the long wait which i think is pretty...

After a mediocre lunch elsewhere, Grill Bar Steakhouse saved our date night. From the moment you walk through the brick walls, youâre transported to New York and the inviting glow of dim lighting bouncing off rustic wood and leather interiors. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between upscale and cozyâideal for both a special night out and a laid-back evening with friends.
Service That Elevates the Experience The staff are attentive without being intrusive. We received complimentary roasted cauliflower dish which certainly tasted better than it looks. Although our steak comes with Ăuchess potato I enquired if we could have lyonnaise potato and the team was so accommodating. We were welcomed like a regular, even though it was our first time. Our server knows the menu well and made thoughtful recommendations. We went with ceasar salad and seared scallops as starters and they were excellently done, and a great opener to things to come.
Unforgettable Steaks The star of the show, of course, is the organic ribeye steak 8oz. Cooked to my specification of medium rare, it arrived rested, with a light char and a juicy, tender center. It was seasoned simply to let the meat shine without need of sauces. The sides of sautéed mushrooms and roasted potatoes mushrooms complimented the main and were seasoned perfectly.
Craft Drinks & Finishing Touches To complement your steak, you might choose from a curated alcohol list or a mocktail. I went with strawberry watermelon mocktail which pleased my lady boss. If she's happy, I'm happy haha. For dessert, the rich chocolate lava cake (let them know in advance 10min when to serve) finished the evening on a decadent note.
Why It Stands Out What makes Grill Bar Steakhouse truly memorable is the attention to detailâfrom the way your steak is presented, to the perfectly timed service. No tiktok influencer overhyped nonsense and fairly priced. Not cheap by any means (total damage: rm577) but you get a quality experience. Compliments to the chef and we...
Read moreVery impressed with the entire experience. The moment you step in, you feel that grungy rustic atmosphere.
Really great vibes for a steakhouse.
Staff were very friendly and service was prompt. Had a nice time chatting with them about everything under the sun and you can tell they love their jobs.
One way for me to see if a restaurant serves good food is how the staff behave. If the food is good, they'll get compliments to pass on to the chefs and they'll feel proud to work there.
On that note, the food. Seriously woah. Legit good.
The steak was seasoned just right, thick cut and the char smelled so smoky. That's the best part cause all the flavour is there.
And here's the thing I was particularly impressed with: The accompanying sides are usually complimentary to the steak because the star is the steak. But their sides were so good that I had such a hard time deciding what to savour and what to move on to!
Pumpkin mash was so light, fluffy and packed with flavour. Asparagus had peeled skin which showed attention to detail Grilled cherry tomatoes that also had a smoky char to it Mushroom with veggies were so savoury and aromatic Rocket salad was tossed in a tangy sauce accompanied with fresh pops of small red peppercorns This helped cut the surfeitness ('jelatness')
Man... Just wish I had another tummy to go for a 2nd round.
It is definitely on the pricier side. Was RM190 for a sirloin and sides so gotta prepare yourself mentally, especially if you're going for the higher cuts.
Personally, I try the sirloin at any steakhouse because it is the best benchmark. Properly seared fat cap, yet not too fatty on the meat area which means seasoning must be done right else the steak wouldn't come through in flavour and so forth.
If they get the sirloin right, they're worth it. (getting wagyu tasty isn't a benchmark to me cause the meat alone is that good of a quality. To mess it up will be...)
But to each his own! They definitely got their...
