PLEASE READ BELOW BEFORE BOOKING.||I booked this on booking.com (a third party provider) for 4 March - 5 March 2023. Upon arrival at the hotel, I was told that there had been no room for me to stay in which the staff told me to leave the premises and find another hotel (in a very rude manner). When inquiring about the booking, he said not a problem, cancel on booking and they will refund the money "this was verbally agreed" when I left the premises.||Whilst dealing with the refund, I would like to say I got played quite well from Oyo because there's no "proof" that I got kicked out of the hotel and that on their end, it seems like I cancelled this on my own free will. Booking.com said they can't help me with my request because the hotel "Oyo" won't respond to their request for more information about what happened that day.||Whilst calling Oyo (4 times) to deal with this matter and including the time I told them to respond to Booking.com, the customer service rep said all the same thing that "they don't deal with this request of refunding the money and that booking.com was the company that charged me the money" They redirected me to Booking.com to sort out the money, when clearly on my bank statement it says "OYO" has charged me money.|When calling Booking.com (6 times), they said "we tried to contact the hotel but they haven't responded to tell us what happened on the day, so unfortunately, there is little to do because there's no proof that they have requested you to cancel so therefore, no refund can be issued.||Now, let me tell you how they played the system. Firstly, by using a third provider and actually cancelling out of your own free will, this caused you to initiate the cancellation. Because it was done from "verbal" conversation, there's no "written proof" that they requested you to cancel this, therefore, losing your money.||In terms of those who have been scammed your money, these are the options which I had considered:||- Dealing with booking.com (no success due to no proof)|- Dealing with Oyo ( unhelpful customer service rep who repeated not their problem and go deal with booking.com)|- Dealing with my bank via cashback for not providing the goods and services ( unfortunately, again, because there's no written proof, I can no longer pursue the refund)||If you do decide to book with this hotel, I am just warning you that if this happens to you, please please please record a voice message with the receptionist as "proof" that they have requested you to cancel.||If not, you'll lose your money just like the rest of us who went through this experience below.||Oh and don't get fooled by the "please contact customer service about your problem, we will be happy to help you with your request", because they really didn't help me at all and kept blaming booking.com for charging me the money by deflecting their responsibility in the matter.||It's pathetic that I got played like that but hey, lesson learnt right? ||Not every company can be ethical in their dealings and sometimes you just need to learn the hard way.||Note to FRIENDS, FAMILY AND MY TRAVEL COMMUNITY, PLEASE PLAY IT SAFE and do your best to spread the word about unethical companies like OYO because you'll be helping them prevent the same experiences that we...
Read moreSCAM STAFF Please listen… don’t book in this hotel! We booked on their hotel on Agoda because it was cheap and the online payment was successful. However, the day we arrived to the hotel, (it was earlier than check in at 2pm but this doesn’t matter because we could wait until check in open), the staff was telling us that there was no room for us and we should get an other hotel. We started arguing because we couldn’t get a refund from agoda it was too late. The person was saying that they were not working with Agoda…he said that we had to deal with Agoda ourselves, “the prices are much lower than our real prices it’s not our problem” We were very confused because of course they work with agoda otherwise nobody would be able to book and we checked their computer and they were other clients booking with agoda. So clearly they were misleading us and it was a scam. They just wanted for us to let it go and they would take the money. BUT, we fought with them and finally, I believe it was the boss, told us that we just had to wait until the check in at 2pm to have our room. We were even more confuse. So we waited until the staff told us the room is ready at around 1:15pm. Everything went well until the check out. We argued again with them because this time they wanted to charge us extra because we did an early check in. Which was ridiculous because we literally waited until we could check in and nobody told us we would be charged because we arrived earlier. They didn’t want to give back our deposit. But even that, what a ridiculous fee, I’ve never experienced that in my 2 years of travelling. They said they would call Agoda (how funny, they actually work with them?). At some point the guy didn’t know what to say so he started to ask us where we were from, he criticised my clothes… We were good to be stubborn with them because they finally give us back the deposit and let us go. They were so rude, disrespectful and with there sarcastic attitude.. they take people for granted but please if you actually decide to go, don’t be afraid and JUST FIGHT WITH THEM. They can’t do anything.
