Langkawi Uptown Hotel — Hotel in Langkawi Island

Location is good.but service is bad.Asked for two taxis for airport transfer as we have 8 of us but they asked us to squeeze into one Toyota Avanza.||They didn't really clean our room everyday and I had to go down to the counter to ask for new towels.They didn't even clean our room yet They said they've 'ticked' the list? Bad excuse.||I requested for airport transfer and the transport was bad and we ended up paying extra cause we checked in late.Bad service.||Wifi cannot even work in lobby or in the room.||Hotel was quite clean tho there's night market nearby.||The car rental was more expensive than what they said...

I and my husband went to Langkawi on 13-15 Apr 2014. We did not book hotel before we arrive to Langkawi. We walked to find the hotel when we saw Langkawi Uptown Hotel , we like it. The price is 80 Ringgit per night. The rooom is clean. It has window , free hot water and cold water for drink.We rent a car from hotel , it is new and cheap 50 Ringgit per day. || ||Sam is owner , he is kindly and other people in hotel is kindly too. Reasonable rate, clean room, centralized hot water with good water pressure, working wifi internet line (slow fr time to time), located at 1st floor (no lift), no refrigerator or teamaking facility in room (hot water machines available at lobby, use the mug provided in room), superb downtown location for duty free shoping with many food outlets nearby & right next to pasar malam (night market). DO NOT take any room on top of the restaurant downstair! Room size is not big...
