I had high hopes for this hotel based on the photos online and reviews: seemed like a reasonably priced simple but amble hotel. But unfortunately, the reality was completely different. The property is worn down, dirty, and extremely basic. Our room had a strong, unpleasant smell - likely from someone smoking in the hotel or even in our room previously. It was constant and we could not get rid of it by opening a window or anything.
The bathroom was old and worn down. The exhaust fan made an incredibly loud noise whenever it was turned on, which was all the time automatically.
Another major inconvenience was that we were only given one key card. This meant we couldn’t keep the air conditioning running while we were out, so the room was unbearably hot when we returned.
The window setup was strange, a too small curtain, some bubbled film at the bottom and an orange, tape-like film at the top. It looked terrible and seemed to be a makeshift way of blocking sunlight since the curtains didn’t fully cover the window. But it just added to the dirty worn down feel.
Coming from Thailand, where the level of service and hospitality is exceptional, the staff here was a big letdown. They were indifferent and barely acknowledged us when we arrived in the building.
Overall, the experience was so disappointing that we checked out early. The hotel failed to meet even basic expectations, and I wouldn’t recommend...
Read moreExcellent new large rooms with all basic amenities, including an iron and a little iron table. Extremely clean rooms, sheets, towels all well cleaned and new. The hotel is in Kuah town, the main town of the island, you will need a car or a scooter to get into interesting beaches. You can go by Grab for RM25 to Pentai Cenang the most popular beach on the island. The hotel is a part of a new nice block of buildings which includes banks with ATM machines, different shops like, watson, ice cream shop (i highly recommend it), and the popular Malaysian coffeshops chain, Oldtown White Coffee. As for restaurants nearby, there are plenty of them, pizzahut and KFC are about 10 minutes walk, many good local street side restaurants are nearby too, and an excellent highly rated Syrian restaurant is five minutes away, just cross the bridge go right, and walk 100 meters down the street. Look for alhamdulilah restaurant, they offer shisha too if you fancy that. My room had a very nice view of the sea nearby with all type of small boats n yachts Breakfast is Malaysian, a choice of rice options, noodle and roti canai (management, please make more of these, they are always over by 9am), and toast with kaya. I highly recommend this hotel if you don't mind being far from the main beaches of the island, i highly recommend renting a car or a motorbike (motorbike rental is available through the hotel), or you can...
Read moreWent to Langkawi during semi lockdown in Klang Valley and was looking for a budget friendly accommodation just to shower and sleep.||Upon looking Agoda (online booking aps) decided to stay at this place that situated in Kuah Town due to its super low rate (probably due to covid) and central location.||The place is brand new and from the outside, it looks like a decent no frills accommodation.||The lobby is like the average bed and breakfast place (they open 24 hrs.. Don't worry if u arrive late) If you are hungry, the sell basic instant food like instant noodles and waters.||But what surprises me the most is the super clean room. Not just that, our room in level 1 (they even have lift) smells fresh and not to mention, is comparable to a 3 to 4 hotel star rooms size. They even have coffee making facilities and free water. (don't forget I just paid rm58 for it!) ||The air conditioning works just fine and the bed is with great pillow and mattress too. Like said, like in 3-4 star hotels!||One thing you need to be mindful if you are driving, since the location is in rows of new shoplots, need to be mindful about the parking. U need to buy tickets for the parking (but according to the staff at check in counter, the enforcement officer usually comes in the morning...
