My Rainforest Chalet @ Dhania — Hotel in Langkawi Island

We made a booking for 2 families room on last September 2015, payment been made and upon our arrival date to the chalet, they only have 1 room available, there are no reservation for us. We been waiting for 2 hours there under hot sun, the owner unable to provide solution. ||When we ask for cancellation, the China owner was no standard, no understand for currency refund amount, at last we need to provide the currency ex-change rate, and we need pay for USD101.00 to cancel the booking. Their booking just manual writing in a notebook, this is 20 century, worldwide tourist are not confidence with this type of service.||This chalet is without signboard from road side, difficult to find. It was a terrible place, don't wait to find out yourself. The photo online we found was totally different with actual condition, the room was smelly, insect bite and air-con was no working well, so hot and irritating.||When you arrive there are no room reserved for you, even you are made the booking 5 months in advance, at last you spent a lot money to find other place to stay during peak season of Chinese New Year, for extra transport and accommodation, you can imagine how frustrated and disappointed for the families member. ||Please be aware for this type chalet, otherwise you will spent more money and waste timing, leave the island with disappointing. The owner, Wye, was very friendly. Introduced us many wonderful places to visit. ||||The room was spacious and clean, the surrounding was serene. Love the verandah the most. We get to hang out there at nite, chat with the owner and his wife.||||I will have to say that they are meticulous! I travelled with toothbrush but forgot my toothpaste; just as I thought of getting it from one of the nearby mart, I saw that both are provided in the room! Just don't bother packing your own toiletries coz it's all available in the room. ||||I asked for a pail to wash my clothes cause I hate smelly soaked clothes (especially sea water), they came with it right away; there was even a towel hanger and clothes hanger in the room, more than enough for me to hang my wet clothes. ||||Walking distance to the beach, on the main stretch of the famous Cenang Beach. Great location. 4 to 5 minutes walk to underwater world and the duty free mall. I had rented a car, and parking in that premise is of charge. A little tip though. Langkawi sort of has this 'alternative way' or the less traffic road.. this chalet is situated right next to that road. Avoid using the main pantai cenang road as it's always congested, and you need to drive through a construction site to reach the chalet (as of October 2019).
