CENANG PLAZA BEACH HOTEL — Hotel in Langkawi Island

Best Hotel to stay on Cenang Beach.

The Cenang Beach is a rather flat landscape and Cenang Plaza is the rare building on the beach. The hotel has only 3 three storeys high. The Ground is a small reception and the rest are shops. The 1st Floor is Massage & Spa outlet. The 2nd is hotel rooms. The 3rd floor is a few suites at the time we visit.

We booked beach view instead of street view and the view on 2nd floor is not that panorama due to the trees on the beach. Langkawi is hot and therefore Beach front unit is really more hot with Sun light reflection.

The first day we watch Sunset on the beach. The second day, we realised that on our Balcony, we can also watch Sunset as there is a wide gap of trees viewing from our balcony of room 217.

This worth an extra Stars.

On Cenang Beach, there are many restaurants. The Best Chinese (authentic) Seafood Restaurant (PalmView) is just few minutes walk from Cenang Plaza.

On Langkawi, the best is Alcoholic Drinks. You can never get this price and quality at KL. The Warisan Duty Free is just few Minutes walk from Cenang Plaza. One passport can buy 72 cans and 1 liter liquor per month. Have a cold beer at your balcony watching Sunset is just amazing. This worth another Star.

Go for Island Hoping? RM25 per head at AB Tour is just a few minutes walk(at front of AB Motel) You can save pickup/drop off charge of RM10 per head as well as the time. More luxury tours are available at Cenang Mall just across the street of the Hotel.

Upon check-in, we have a voucher for a Dory fish dish at Manhattan Seafood Market at Cenang Mall.

The general amenities in the room is ample and all utilities are acceptable. The last evening our Air Conditioner broke down and was fixed immediately.

HOTEL from the port(Koh lipe / Langkawi), taxi is RM35. Grab a car is RM25. Hotel to Sky Cab is RM35 taxi and RM25 Grab Car. Hotel to Airport , Grab car is RM13, Taxi RM 20.00。This Hotel is at perfect location.

The hotel is not fancy but crucial things you need during your visit are right there.

We book thru Agoda rather late and the room rate is a bit expensive but the early bird could have the best worm. At normal rate, this hotel is far superior...

Nice room let down by the service. I stayed 3 nights in the Superior Suite when we first walked in I was wowed by the size and the light an airy feel. However I immediately noticed the floor was covered in hairs, the rug under the bed was very dirty and looked like it had not been cleaned in months. I request that the room was vacuumed and the hotel did do that. But I shouldn't have had to tell them this, that should have been done before we arrived no guest wants to be greeted by a room filled with someone else's hair.

The television was an android TV but as big as it was there were only a 7 channels.

I also found hair on the pillowcase which I just removed myself.

The shower was very nice and powerful, however the drain was blocked so after a 5 minutes shower I was up to my ankles in water and the bathroom was nearly flooded. I informed the hotel and they fixed the shower no issue for the rest of the stay.

They didn't change the sheets for the entire time we stayed even after my girlfriend got make up on the sheets, most hotels I've stayed in would change the sheets every two days at least.

They never changed the towels even after you leave the make up room sign out. I had to call house keeping to get fresh towels every day. That is unacceptable in my opinion changing the towels daily is the bare minimum you would expect from a hotel especially if you are paying extra for the Superior Suite.

On the positive side, the room would have been wonderful if it was not for the above. The view from the balcony is beautiful.

The location is excellent lots of shops and places to eat nearby.

My girlfriend said the spa was awesome.

You couldn't be closer to the beach without being in the water.

Pros: -Hotel location is great. Located on beach however our deluxe beach view room was blocked by trees. The whole building is blocked by trees so you get very little, if any beach view. -Easy walking access to shopping and food. -The staff are friendly and I feel bad for them trying to accommodate guests for the short comings of the hotel.

Cons: hotel / room need proper maintenance towels & bed sheets are dirty / old looking. The sheets & towels that use to be white are greyish. We booked for two people and had to ask for second towel after housekeeping cleaned the room. A/C control unit does not work other than just to power on / off the unit TV is difficult to use with no instructions, no live English Channels. We had to call house keeping 6 times in our 2 1/2 day stay because TV content are streamed through TV box and it kept losing connection. Another time TV would not power on. shower head is older and loose. we had to call house keeping for clothes hangers since none in room

I realize this is a budget, no frill hotel but I feel this hotel has been neglected maintenance wise. Needs serious up keeping.
