★★★☆☆ The hotel is located about a 5-minute walk from the central part of Long Beach. The entrance is a bit tricky to find since it’s on a small side street, but locals can easily point you in the right direction. To reach the hotel you have to climb a steep hill, which was one of the main downsides for us. Other than that, the location is quite central. The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful, and assisted us whenever needed. They also offer two snorkeling tours at a very reasonable price, and all the services we booked could conveniently be paid by card. In front of the reception area there is a large open space that seems like it used to be a restaurant. It would be nice if it had at least a small café, especially for times when you don’t feel like going down to the beach. The rooms are set in wooden cabins, each with two units. Our room was spacious, clean, with a private bathroom and terrace. It did smell slightly of humidity, but nothing too strong. We had both a fan and air conditioning, which was great. The only real issue was that the shower didn’t work very well. Overall, it’s not a luxurious stay, but we were comfortable enough during our time at Long Beach.

As someone who loves hiking, it wasn't a problem. It wasn't that high also but definitely not suitable for the elderly. If you had elderly individuals in the group.. you definitely had to kick off this option from your list. Also..if you had large luggage..I wouldn't recommend it. For a youth group, it definitely wasn't a big deal. When we went there..there was construction going on..wasn't a pleasant sight on the way to the chalet. However..the view and the environment were great. I loved the vibe and the chalet's design. The environment was clean BUT inside the room is not really worth mentioning... The room wasn't properly cleaned.. there were sands here and there. The electricity would sometimes cut off and the toilet was kinda smelly with no water heater.

First of all, the service is extremely rude. She said that our agent cancel the booking as we arrived and need to wait for long enough i could remember to get the room. 2ndly, she gave us the room that quite far which we need to go up hill. She said they don’t have the other room due to not been cleaning up yet. In the night the nearest resort which also not accommodated by other customer. 3rd that i was never imagine that could happen which is the electricity will be cut off in certain time. Like hell 4rd late check-in and early check-out. It’s like they drive away the customer. Before 11am you need to check out already. What a disaster resort in my whole experience. I need to speak up for those who want to try here, pleas don’t . DON’T BOOK HERE!

Disappointing Experience with Cocohell Resort:

Power Outages: During my stay, we experienced a total of four power outages. Each time, the electricity was out for extended periods, which was incredibly inconvenient. This not only disrupted our comfort but also affected essential services like lighting & air conditioning. Despite reporting these issues to the staff, there was no clear communication or assurance provided regarding when or if the issue would be resolved.

Rude Receptionist: Adding to the frustration was the behavior of the receptionist. When I brought up the issue of the power outages, the receptionist responded with noticeable rudeness and was dismissive of my concerns. This lack of professionalism and courtesy was disappointing and made an already difficult situation worse.

Inconvenient Location: The resort is located a considerable distance from the jetty and is situated uphill. This made transportation to and from the resort very inconvenient and tiring. The remote and steep location added unnecessary hassle to our trip.

Rude Resort Owner: The most glaring issue was the behavior of the resort owner, who was extremely rude and unprofessional. When I raised concerns about various issues during my stay, the owner responded dismissively and with apparent hostility. This kind of treatment was not only uncalled for but significantly impacted my overall experience.

Miscommunication with Agent: There was also considerable miscommunication with the booking agent regarding our trip details. The information provided was inaccurate, leading to confusion about our reservation and additional complications upon arrival. This lack of clarity further compounded the issues we faced...

The hotel is located somewhere in the centre along "Long beach". The jetty is towards the far right and we have to walk half the distance of the beach and then walk uphill to get to the rooms. From the jetty it takes around 15 minutes and the walk uphill is quite tiring if you're carrying a lot of bags.We stayed in the deluxe chalets, which was actually quite nice. They provided towels and a small bottle of shampoo and soap. There was also a mini fridge in each room. "BATHROOM HEATER"----The bathrooms were quite clean.HOWEVER, they did not switch on the heater in the bathroom until we actually went and asked them. "POWER CUTS!!"----Another thing that kept happening was a cut in the electric supply for all the chalets. Which conveniently happened at 9 am and 2 pm everyday while we were there. They would say there was a power cut and that would force us to be out of the room, as there would be no air conditioning. This was really annoying as the beach was scorching hot at 1 in the afternoon, and a we wanted to do was to just sit and relax in a cold room, but, the power went off both days. It took nearly 2-3 hours for the power to come back. They provided us a decent buffet breakfast. There were toasts, fried rice, noodles, baked beans, sausages, eggs, coffee, tea and some juices. "EARLY CHECKOUT, PRICY EXTENSION"------Checkout time is at 10.30 am, which was quite early. The last day we were there, we requested to extend the room for a few hours, however the hotel's policy is that if you wish to extend, you have to extend for the price of a half-day stay, which is till 4pm and cost us an...

Since it’s Perhentian, we didn’t have very high expectations. The rooms were relatively okay, and the towels and bedsheets were clean. The reception staff also kindly allowed us to check in earlier, which we appreciated.

Unfortunately, several frustrating issues overshadowed the positives:

The bathroom was not very clean — the shower area and toilet had yellow stains.

Housekeeping service was nonexistent: no cleaning was done during our stay, no complimentary water bottles were provided, and not even a kettle was available to boil water.

On one of the nights, heavy rain caused the ceiling to leak. We had to use a trash bin with a plastic bag to collect the water. The next day we asked reception for any container to help, and while staff acknowledged the problem, no action was taken.

The hotel does not offer any transfer service from the jetty or assistance with luggage. We had to carry everything ourselves under the hot sun, walking through the sand — while we saw other budget-friendly hotels offering this basic service.

The location is not very convenient, as you need to climb up a slope to reach the hotel. If you’re looking for easy access, this is not the place.

The hotel attracts a lot of families, and unfortunately management does not control noise after 9 pm or before 9 am. It can get quite noisy and disturbing.

Overall, I would not recommend staying here. While the price is relatively budget-friendly compared to other hotels, it does not provide good...
