Tried for the first time at this outlet. Overall experience was disappointing.

HDL is famed for its service but for this visit, it was not meant to be.

We went there around 8pm. No queue and lots of seating available. Before ordering, the waitress asked if we have membership card. We said no so decided to sign up. However, no explanation was given on the benefits (we didn't asked either). After signed up, the waitress left us with the tablet.

Ordered food through the tablet. Couldn't enquire on the food item if we have questions. We don't bother to call for any waitress just for the sake of asking minute questions. Anyway, for good service, we were expecting the wire's will at least accompany us while ordering. Not everyone is familiar with their ordering system.

Food came fast. This was a good point. Food quality was good. Another plus point. This the 2 stars rating. You can help yourselves with the condiments at RM8 per person.

The issue we had was with the availability of the waitress. Nobody to be found. Had to wait for a while before we can see someone nearby to ask for help. Tips: I learnt a way to get their attention. Just open the drawers at the bottom side of the table. Once you do that, any waiters who see this even though they are far away will come running to you to serve you. Just do that if you cannot get the attention of them.

This happened on many occasion. Also, halfway through our dining, our waitress was switched. No sure if this is normal.

Another plus point was if you're are cold, you can request for a blanket.

Finally, before we came, we made a call for booking but they said we have to queue for our turn when we arrive. No issue with that. Then she asked what was the occasion or any celebration. We said it was to celebrate birthday. So when we were dining there, we saw a few tables be approached by the staff for birthday song. So naturally we expected the same for our table soon. However, until the end, nobody came. If course we didn't asked why nobody came (would be embarrassing).

So, all in all, not a recommended place to go if you just want to enjoy steamboat. The price was steep. Don't put high hopes for their "high...
