Moty Hotel — Hotel in Malacca

Stayed for 2 nights at the family suite. The room is big, clean and comfortable for a family of 4 ( 2 adults and 2 children aged 12 and 1) with a super king and 2 super single beds. Had 2 comfy nights.

Few things to improve, though: The laminate on some of the built-in cabinets, drawers, and bedframes are falling off or chipped at the corner, posing hazard for my curious toddler. The safe in the room had no power, hence can not be used. The ventilation fan in the huge bathroom is spoilt, not spinning or ventilating throughout my stay. The emergency flashlight in the bedside table drawer is missing. Was it removed on purpose or was stolen by the previous customer and not replaced? The mini fridge in the room gave up after our 1st night, my packet of mini oranges for the trip was not kept cool at all. The seal around the bathtub is falling out. The variety for the international breakfast buffet was very limited. Hotel should include a waffle/pancake station to make it more "international" Parking can be challenging during the stay. Street parking around the hotel or can pay for parking under the flyover just infront of the hotel. Security is also an issue. The card scanner in the lifts are not working. Don't even need to scam your room card to gain access to other levels. Surrounding can be scary at night/evening. Was approached by a guy in hoodie during checking while unloading my luggage from my car. Spoke to me in his language which I do not understand and ran away laughing, staring at us from the building opposite the hotel. That guy was still loitering around the vicinity when we checked in and going out for dinner and saw him under the flyover carpark walking around when we came back from dinner.

Very dissapointed with the service. First i just booked last night. So it happen to be 'pay at the hotel' which is i will pay later by cash. I arrived around 11.45pm and the guy told me they tried to charge my card but it was declined. I ask the guy why they tried to charge my card as i already choose the cash term payment? He answered 'we still need to charge your card first'. This is my first encounter with such issue. Which i feel annoyed. But then it goes well. I paid the amount and deposit of RM200. All by cash. Checked in to my room. Everything fine until i use the toilet. The hose is leaking which makes me wet my pants and the floor so much.

Then i checkout this afternoon. Which they need to ask housekeeping to check my room before they can return my deposit. However the housekeeping informed the hair dryer is missing. First the guy at the checkout counter ask me if i used the hairdryer. I said no, i didn't know where the hairdryer is. Then i still need to stand there waiting for my money, the other lady ask me again did i use the hairdryer. This raise my anger, i said 'i checked in very late last night. I didnt use the hairdryer coz i'm very tired'. Then only the lady said 'ok, we'll return the deposit to u first' as it means later if didn't find the hairdryer we'll charge u.

What on earth is this?? Accusing me of stealing the hairdryer?? I've been to so any hotel and this is not my first time to this hotel. I am very furious abt this and will never check in to this hotel anymore will not recommend this...

I initially booked a Deluxe King Room, but upon check-in, I noticed the room was slightly dusty. I immediately informed the front desk, and the officer on duty, Ms. Tara, handled the matter with remarkable professionalism and genuine care. She promptly apologized and arranged for an upgrade to a better room without any hassle.

The upgraded room was immaculately clean, spacious, and very comfortable, making my stay truly enjoyable. All amenities were in excellent working condition — the air-conditioning was cool and quiet, and the bathroom was spotless with strong water pressure and quality toiletries provided.

What impressed me most was the staff’s attentiveness and warmth throughout my stay. Every interaction felt courteous and sincere, from the front desk to the housekeeping team.

The location of the hotel is another big plus — convenient and within easy reach of Melaka’s main attractions, restaurants, and shopping areas.

The breakfast was good and enjoyable, but I feel that a wider variety of choices would make it even better. I also found the bed to be quite firm and not as soft as I personally prefer, which slightly affected my overall comfort. Additionally, it would be better if parking was provided for guests, as parking currently requires payment.

Overall, it was an excellent stay with top-notch service, and I truly appreciate Ms. Tara’s outstanding hospitality. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean, well-located, and pleasant...
