The Royal Malaysian Navy Museum (TLDM) or Muzium Tentera Laut Diraja Malaysia in Malay is located opposite the Museum of the Ocean (replica of Flor De La Mar Ship) in Melaka, Malaysia. The museum, originally located at the TLDM base in Lumut, has now been transferred to Melaka so more visitors can visit it to obtain information on the roles and contributions and activities carried out by the RMN. The museum was opened to the public on October 28, 1995. The museum features pictures of Commander-in-Chief, medals, ranks, weapons tools, uniforms, communication equipment, security equipment and symbols used in navigation. Also demonstrated were the development activities of the Malaysian Navy. On the outside of the museum there is a "KD Sri Terengganu EX" ship and some of the firearms supplied on the ship. Read moreI've visited this museum a decade ago. Back then the impression I got was this place was just a dumping ground of old navy equipment. I was fortunate back then the patrol boat was visitable. Today it's off limits. On my second visit, I find the museum has definitely improved. There is a Wasp helicopter and many more ship models now.
