Functional, economical and very well located hotel. It is relatively well maintained, although it is not necessary to look for perfection. In relation to what you pay, it is not bad either.
Of course, you should know that:
The wifi didn't work any of the 3 days...they always had excuses and crazy arguments. The best comment was a girl at the front desk who told me "I have cable internet here at the front desk. Come and connect your cell phone to the cable..."
They don't make your bed...they just stretch the sheet and that's it...they could save it. The sheets and that's it...they could really do without that. They don't change your towels either, they don't replace your bottled water or toilet paper...it doesn't make sense.
Then, it is important to note that you are just 5 meters away from the port which means that at 5 o'clock in the morning the boats start up with their noisy and smelly old diesel engines...obviously, you will wake up...this is not bad, you make the most of the day...you have a long day ahead of you.
In summary. Hotel very valid as a base of operations for routes and visits to the islands. For little else...ahhh and I almost forgot it is built on the basis of shipping containers which conditions the interior space of the...
Read moreIf you live to dive and eat like a local, this hotel is a no-nonsense, diver-friendly haven. Crafted from shipping containers, it’s built for functionality, not frills. The rooms are designed with the essentials in mind—ample space to lay out, wash, and rinse your dive gear before packing for your flight.
Security? Top-notch, with the marine police stationed right out front, keeping the waters safe. Convenience? Unbeatable. It’s right across the road from the jetty’s disembarkation point, so you can basically roll out of the water and into your room. The dive shop’s pickup point is just a five-minute stroll away, while the local food scene is a short 10-minute walk—perfect for refueling after a long day underwater.
Need to restock equipment or make a quick repair? Two dive gear shops and a massive DIY store are within a 20-minute radius. This place is a gem for serious divers who prioritize practicality over luxury.
But if you're dreaming of spa treatments and resort-style pampering, do yourself a favor—book elsewhere. This hotel is for those who dive first and ask...
Read moreThe rooms are small, barely clean and with essential amenities. Maintenance is mid low (first room had broken AC, second room had broken furniture) It is surrounded by fisherman and jetty port therefore pollution and smell is not at best (rats, dogs, ...). Imams' praying and port activities starts 5am in the morning so if you can't stand "noise" while sleeping, look somewhere else. The structure is well positioned to both go to the Feast Jetty for daily activities and to go to city center for meals or groceries. Accommodation serves no breakfast and there are not so many aptions in the morning. If you are a family (eg we are four, we needed two rooms) and want to stay on the beach to relax it is better to look for island (eg pom pom) resorts, private jetty from semporna to island can be 600-800/day so daily island hopping can...
