Dragon Inn (Floating Hotel) — Restaurant in Sabah

One of the worst experience at a so called among the best floating seafood restaurant....drove more than 100 km just to get there ...after arriving started to enquire food menu....upon arrival very2 disappointing denied family group table ....even there was families sitting on other tables....no prawn 🍤 ....no fish 🐟🎏 available ...there was just 1 small (live) fish kerapu ...was given choice frozen 🎏🐟....requested to steam...denied ...no v don't have steam....the steam pot still doing covid quarantine may be....orderd vegetables 🌿🍃☘️🍀 ..kankong (spinach) ....after half an hour the waitress comes n says spinach finished customer orderd all the veggies...do know among all the nearly 20 or 25 tables only 5 tables were occupied ....n do u all want to know what time we entered ....just 12.30 pm ....just 1 hr after it was opened.....n the final best part n the most worst part of all ...among the menu was the most famous menu 3 rasa sweet n sour....the 3 rasa was served with no salt taste.....so to make up or to cover the no salt 3 rasa bcos may be the cook was busy playing whatsapp in the kitchen or anything ..requested for chili n garlic to dip with the unsalted 3 rasa fish do u all know what the waitress replied in a most intelligent n cunning manner ...sir our worker blended the whole chili last night....so no chili 🌶️ for ur...

PRO Boarding Point/Jetty to all the island just right outside the hotel Seafood restaurants rite opposite this hotel. Amenities within 200m away. Friendly & helpful staff. Room & toilet is clean. Fast check in & check out during off peak season. Ideal for Diver or island hopping.

CONS Very basic lodging facilities. Television is not working for the 2 rooms that we stayed. No Telephone too. In house restaurant cannot make it although it got nice Seaview. Restaurant staff is horrible. The worse I have met so far in the whole of Malaysia region. Unbelievable that they're still being employed by the owner. Amazingly shocking. Low water pressure in some room. Doesn't include breakfast. Room rate consider expensive during weekend. facilities like a 2 star hotel.

There's better hotel just 100m away. Tons of seafood restaurant within walking distance. Remember to bargain at least 50% off the price from the external seafood seller lining along the restaurant. The seafood quoted is per bundle in a tub or pail. They do not sell by per pieces. Most probably will not stay in this hotel again. Picture look amazing but...

A super dated resort on water. But the on water isn't what you expect. Resort is located next to the fish market, and the place is super noisy. Avoid rooms around the restaurant because it has high human traffic walking by your room and the thumping noise from the restaurant music will make sure you will have sleepless night and day. The motor boat noise will definitely break your sleep rem.

Amenities in room is a toilet roll, one set of shower foam and 3 bottled water. there is no bar fridge. the TV only has 2 local channels.

The only plus point is you can walk to surrounding food places. The place is quaint but then you are surrounded by street kids asking you for money, or then scavenging for food left ove at your table or asking to drink your cola. Very saddening and not at all therapeutic. Feel guilty holidaying with these street kids.

Also Beware if you are a foreigner and they charge u at 30% more if you are not Malaysian or a Malaysian work pass holder. So you end up paying much more. I believe the grace hotels are much better.

Pls book somewhere else if you indeed want a nice respite. And reallt not...
