Hyde Tower Homestay at Icity Shah Alam — Hotel in Shah Alam

[Hyde tower E-17-12] My overall rating for this accommodation is a single star (1/5). While the unit is advertised as ideal for a family with its two rooms and one bathroom, the experience was far from satisfactory. In short, this stay was a letdown, and I cannot recommend it. Booking and Arrival The booking process was frustrating and disorganized. The instructions for check-in were provided at the last minute and were extremely unclear. It was a significant challenge to figure out where to find the key, taking me almost an hour. The lack of clear directions, possibly with images, made navigating the many buildings confusing for someone unfamiliar with the area. The Room and Amenities Despite being advertised for five guests, the unit lacked basic necessities. There were no extra pillows or mattresses provided, and towels were not available at all. The room itself was extremely small, and the walls showed signs of wear with peeling paint. The bathroom was noticeably unclean, and there were no basic toiletries provided. The advertisement also claimed there was Wi-Fi, but it was not working during my entire stay. Essential amenities like an iron were also missing. I informed the staff about these issues, and while they replied they would contact housekeeping, no one ever came to resolve the problems. Location The only positive aspect of this accommodation is its location. It's conveniently situated near UiTM, which was helpful as I was attending a convocation there. Value for Money This place is simply not worth the money. Having stayed in numerous other apartments and hotels, I can honestly say this was the worst experience I have ever had. The poor condition of the unit and the lack of basic amenities do not justify the cost. Final Verdict Given the numerous issues with the booking process, the state of the room, and the lack of essential amenities, I will not be staying here again. I strongly do not recommend this place to any...
