4/5 stars Our stay at Casa al Mar was overall wonderful, especially for families. The location is unbeatable—right across the street from the beach and just steps from a playground. The hospitality exceeded expectations; the staff were warm and accommodating Our room was spacious, with a clear separation between the bedroom and living area, plus its own dining space and a medium-sized refrigerator. We especially enjoyed our small balcony with an ocean view. There are a few practical things to note. The hotel is on the main strip, so noise levels can be high, especially on weekends, usually calming down around midnight. There are no elevators, but they do provide a bellboy to help with luggage if you’re upstairs. Front entrance closes at 10pm but you are given a door key for your room and for the gate. Note it’s physical keys and not a key card. The bathroom setup wasn’t ideal—the showerhead was very high and without a fully enclosed door, so water spread easily. The hotel doesn’t have a pool, but the beach is literally across the street. Breakfast was included in our package and served at the restaurant next door (which is also where you get ice). There are no phones in the rooms, so communication is done through WhatsApp or by visiting the front desk. Despite minor inconveniences, Casa al Mar delivers in charm, comfort, and location. We’d gladly return for the friendly service and unbeatable beach access.

This place is one of the best in town in terms of the upscale places. Just a high level of ingredients and ambiance. The fish here is incredibly fresh and tasty. The ambiance is quite nice, but you pay nearly American prices. Good spot for the one night out where you splurge. Of course i only had a small sample, but the Spoons de Ceviche is an absolute must. I also had the house special salad with shrimp. The tuna tostada was very good. Everything fresh and delicious. Combined with two mango margaritas (real fruit!) and it was a lovely meal. Returned a second night, food was still good but had a regular margarita which was just ok then a strawberry that was down right bad. Syrup and a couple slices of strawberry. They should really up their margarita game!! All in all very much recommend!!

We picked this hotel due to their location. It was very nice being right across from the pearl which is where we get picked up for our boat tours. The only downside to this location is the noise. It will be pretty noisy late into the night. The room was very nice and spacious. We get gorgeous sunset views each day. However the bathroom here was terrible. The shower head is barely functioning. The drainage is backed up and does not drain well from the first day we were there. There’s not enough counter space or hooks to hang things in the bathroom. The staffs were all very nice and helpful though. Someone gave us some aloe vera gel for our sunburn and we were VERY grateful.

We booked Casa Al Mar in a “Suite Al Patio Doble” room for four nights on our most recent visit to La Paz. Prior to our arrival, we accepted the hotel’s offer to pick us up at the airport. The cost was 380 pesos. The hotel manager, (yes the manager), ALEXIA, arrived on time and was professional and friendly. ||We arrived at the hotel in the evening, and our room was ready. This boutique hotel’s location on the Malecon is perfect. In addition, the hotel’s entrance is really nice with a boho chic vibe. Our room, Unit 1, was about 900 square feet with two bedrooms, one bathroom, a living room, dining room, and kitchen. This room did not have a view of the ocean (we booked late in the game). Upon first entering the room, it looked really nice; also decorated in a boho chic vibe. ||There are a lot of steps inside this room. For example, the living area is sunken from the entrance and the kitchen is sunken from the living room. The same thing occurs upstairs to the bedrooms and bathroom. People with mobility issues or children might want to consider other hotel options. ||Regarding the condition of the unit, it was good. The kitchen was fully outfitted for cooking, and the appliances were in new condition. We did have an issue with the safe, as it was not secured to the wall. It appeared it had been pulled away from the wall for some reason because the holes in the wall were visible. We reported the issue, and they secured the safe the following day. We also had an issue with hot water in the shower and sink. It was somewhat hit or miss; not a huge issue for us. WIFI in the room interacting with the smart TV was troublesome at times. There is no pool at this hotel. In room massage services are available for $90 per hour. ||Regarding the service, it was fantastic (FIVE STARS). In addition to picking us up at the airport, ALEXIA helped arrange excursions including a beach tour and sand boarding adventure for a really great price. In addition to ALEXIA, all of the staff members were friendly and professional including FRIEDA, CONCEPCION, and PRICILLA. ||Overall, we had a great experience at Casa Al Mar with only a coupe of minor room issues; one of which we reported, and they handled it right away. Booking in advance for a balcony room with an ocean view is...
