Restaurante Central 1535 — Restaurant in Baja California Sur

Went for a Birthday dinner. We sat outside & it was enjoyable. My husband's fish, pineapple cilantro tacos were spot on. Generous portion (3), pleasing to the eye. My grilled fish with green beans & tiny broiled tomatoes was very good. I had ordered fish & chips but it turned out to be a very good "mistake". Could have been the mask 😷 that made it sound like something else. Anyway, I was content. Our friend's grilled 4 cheese sandwich with fries was the weak entre. More like toast with a little cheese. Too much bread, not nearly enough cheese. If they had served it as cheese toast it might have worked. He didn't finish it. It could work if the bread was sliced thinner & more cheese. Otherwise, they might consider a different name or execution. The Birthday girl had the vegie bowl. She enjoyed it. Eggplant, cauliflower, Broccoli, carrots, avocado, rice. Presentation could have been a bit more pleasing to the eye but she said it tasted good. Service was good. We'll be back to further...

I travel to La Paz a couple of times a year, so I’ve visited Central a couple of times. The food is good and usually the service too. However, I visited the place yesterday in a 40C day, we requested to have the air conditioner on in the inside area of the restaurant and the waiter refused saying that the owner will get mad. I understand that it’s not waiter’s fault if that is the case, but what restaurant’s owner doesn’t want to provide a nice service and atmosphere to their clients?! For reference most restaurants in La Paz provide air conditioner, especially during the hot months. I don’t think they understand this could actually hurt someone’s health, but they really need to evaluate...

La comida es deliciosa al igual que sus bebidas pero si creo que podría ser mejor su pan francés, nosotros lo pedimos y sabía algo seco. En cuanto a la atención deja demasiado que desear, en nuestro caso específico por diferentes razones. La primera situación desagradable fue que tuvimos que esperar a que nos pasaran pero cuando llegaron extranjeros a ellos les dieron un trato preferencial, lo segundo que pasamos fue el hecho de que estuvimos más de 15 minutos esperando a que nos tomaran la orden cuando no había gente y si estaban atendido demás mesas en donde claramente se veía un trato más cordial que con nosotros. Aunado a eso la mesera que nos atendió (Angy se llamaba) cuando llegó nuestro pan francés nos dijo que si nos molestaba acomodando la mesa para poner nuestro pan francés, lo cual entiendo y lo que criticó aquí es que a mi percepción se le notaba molesta y grosera al expresarse. Al final nos terminó atendiendo otra mesera igual de grosera pero angy seguía atendiendo la mesa de extranjeros, algo que si fue bueno es que un chico nos llevó nuestros platos y el fue súper antento, nos trajo cubiertos extra ya que los que teníamos se los habían llevado y también un vaso con agua. Para finalizar, en todo momento los platos nos los quitaban apenas terminábamos como apurándonos y cuando fue momento de pagar ahí si no se tardaron, quizás queriendo que nos fuéramos. La mesera al traerme la cuenta si se mostró preocupada quizás de que no nos alcanzara, pero si preguntó si el 15 o 20% de propina y cuando le dije que la cuenta era cerrada me tronaron la boca.

Mi intención de hacer la opinión es ver que la comida es rica y tiene áreas de oportunidad, pero sobretodo que la opinión llegase a modificar como tratan a los comensales nacionales y que cuando vuelva, tener una experiencia...
