Giulietta e Romeo — Restaurant in Baja California Sur

The ice cream (overall) isn't bad, but ... it's not great either. The coffee flavor that I had yesterday (Feb 7 '22) was exceedingly bitter. You know how espresso tastes when you go to a coffeehouse and they have NO IDEA how to pull a shot of espresso, and it comes out really bitter and undrinkable?!? That's how the coffee tasted to me. The chocolate wasn't bad. The thing is, it's on the less-milky/less-fat side of what we know as typical ice cream in the U.S. They must use a lower percentage milk fat. Sooooo, the ice cream is less milky, less fatty, less delicious than perhaps what you're used to. Still--not bad. But certainly nothing to write home about. TO THE OWNER: S-a-d-l-y, the coffee served at Oxxo is probably on a par with what you place in your coffee ice...

I love this place and their ice creams but unfortunately today, being La Paz in state 5 of Covid which is the one before lockdown, two of three members of their staff weren’t wearing their mask, a customer asked the seller to use it but as soon as she left she took it off again saying “I can’t stand anymore this thing” (pulling the mask down) the other member of the staff was making the cones without mask… I asked her again to use the mask and she just left to the cooking area to pull it down again… and the only member of the staff one who was actually wearing it was looking like he was on a trial day as he was asking every 3 min instruction to the seller. We went on a Sunday night fortunately before the crowd came. I had a double scoop of Philadelphia cream cheese and strawberry (delicious!). My wife had a scoop of one of the coffee flavors and a scoop of chocolate which she really enjoyed. Can't speak for my wife's but mine was very thick, creamy and tasty. The staff were helpful and kept things moving even as the crowds grew. We sat outside at one of the tables and people watched. We'll return to try other flavors....
