Casa Mech — Hotel in Isla Holbox

Where do I start with this awesome hotel, it’s the best place In Isla Holbox and I’m so glad myself and my wife got to stay there. The hotel was clean, a lovely construction that makes you feel like you’re deep in the jungle in a private space. Both Irais and Mauricio were such lovely hosts and really do make the hotel experience special. They both were so kind, we can’t thank them enough. They helped explain all the great things we could do on the island and were always present to help us with anything we needed. Not only in helping us arrange our tours and shuttles but as I was trying to be romantic they even helped improvise with the other hotel staff to create a beautiful towel display for my wife as the flower shop was closed when we were there. To also learn the beautiful building was created by Mauricio himself just made the whole thing even better. We’ll definitely be back and definitely be telling all our friends that there’s only ONE place to stay on...

We were here for 2 nights and wished it was longer. Irais was a wonderful and friendly hostess who made us feel welcomed and was extremely helpful. The room was comfortable and beautiful. The rooftop pool was just perfect in the mid-day heat. There is a fridge in the lobby area you can use, and a water dispenser for hot and cold water. There’s coffee in the morning and tea available. It’s a couple blocks from the beach but not inconveniently far. We rented bikes from the hotel for 100 MEX (about $5 USD) and rode all over the island. The only quirky thing was that there was no sign for the hotel when we were there and the golf cart taxis didn’t seem to know it by name, so make sure you have a screenshot of the map handy. It was a little confusing to us when we first got there. It’s very close to the American Outlet store. I’ll post a picture of the gate to enter the hotel. Our stay at Casa Mech with Irais was absolutely unforgettable! From the very beginning, when we were making the booking and asking for a few extra requests, Irais was incredibly accommodating and kind, making sure everything was arranged with ease and a smile. Once we arrived, it was clear that she had thought of every little detail to ensure we had the best possible experience. The check-in process was thorough, and it was evident how much care and attention went into preparing for our stay.

Irais went above and beyond, taking care of everything with such joy and warmth. It’s rare to find someone so dedicated to making your stay perfect, and she certainly made sure we had everything we could need.
