Where do I even start? Well first things first, we are owed a refund as we did not stay the full 3 days. We only booked a stay here because of an emergency situation that occurred at the other place we were staying. My father has still not received a call about getting his money back. Just another case of businesses taking advantage of the elderly.
Secondly, the quality of the rooms was awful. Believe the bad reviews. They have to be paying people off for the good reviews.
There was mold on the ceilings of the showers (they switched my room twice due to the quality and i gave up after the 3rd room). There were mysterious stains on the sheets, walls, and curtains! I made sure to check for bed bugs and was hesitant but saw none. But in the morning I noticed there were little black bits of dirt in my bed next to me. Totally disgusting. Shameful. The only saving grace was the bellhop, who I could tell was a little exasperated with my complaints but still tried his best.
I almost never complain about bad service because I know that service workers are just trying their best and I also work in the service industry, but this was different. It was not the employees' faults, but whoever owns this business should absolutely feel ashamed. Avoid at all costs. I never want to come off as an entitled American, but everywhere else we stayed during our time in Mérida was amazing. I can't believe that they'd let people stay here knowing that there is an intense mold issue in a majority of their rooms. It's a...
Read moreROBAN!!! AVOID!! THEY STEAL!!! THEY STEAL!! Housekeeper went into our room and stole our money, jewelry and other personal items. We specifically ask for no room service to avoid such events but they did anyways. Do not stay here!! Staff acts strange and it all seems like they are part of the act. No one has apologize or taking any responsibility. Police was contacted and events have been reported, unfortunately this event will go impune, authorities want us the (victim) to follow up with a full lawsuit and a court case in order to charge the housekeeper. What tourist had the time and effort to do such thing? At the end police didn’t even question her, even though she admitted of going into our room without permission. Don’t trust the law in this country as most of you already know how this works here is a perfect example. Save your self a headache and a very uncomfortable experience in Merida, stay somewhere else....
Read moreNOT a 4 start hotel. The staff is friendly and professional but the hotel may easily be falling apart at this very moment. Our ‘view’ was the water tanks and it had the worst smell of cigarettes.
The elevator was a mortal trap, we walked up 5 floors than taking it - there are no signs or any kind of safety measures inside, and the doors kept closing on guests.
The bathroom was the worse thing of it all. It could barely fit a child inside and you need to squeeze yourself between the sink and the toilet to be able to close the door. What you don’t see in the pictures is that it was taken from the tiny space between the shower door and the toilet seat overall it must be 1.5x1 mtrs no more.
SO noisy, there is no isolation in any window and the door is one of the oldest I ever seen in a 4-star hotel. The air conditioner was shaking so much we thought it would fall off the wall. Plus, the curtains do not block the street lights or the morning sun (thank God we brought our blindfolds).
They have at least 4 WIFI lines but none worked, it kept on dropping or didn’t even connected.
Not even a hostal category. We will never ever be fooled by the nice pictures they show online. Maybe they have one renovated room and that’s where they come from but they do NOT reflect the reality. Save your money and go to a hostal or airbnb for...
