I am delighted to provide you with a review of Hotel Sta Maria, a very nice accommodation option that I had the pleasure of experiencing recently. This hotel is an excellent choice for travelers who want to stay in a comfortable and cozy environment while exploring the surrounding area.
One of the standout features of this hotel is the friendliness of the staff. From the moment I checked in, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism, and throughout my stay, the staff were always available to answer my questions and help me with anything I needed.
The rooms at Hotel Sta Maria are also worth mentioning. They are spacious, well-appointed, and clean. I found everything I needed for a comfortable stay, including comfortable beds, and modern amenities such as flat-screen TVs and reliable Wi-Fi.
The location of Hotel Sta Maria is another strong point. It’s situated in a quiet and peaceful area, yet close enough to local attractions and amenities. I particularly enjoyed the fact that it was within walking distance of some great restaurants and cafes, making it easy to explore the local cuisine.
For those who want to relax and unwind, the hotel features a nice small swimming pool, perfect for cooling off after a day of sightseeing. Overall, I found Hotel Sta Maria to be an excellent value for the price. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, clean, and friendly place to stay while...
Read moreThis is probably the worst hotel I've ever stayed in.Too many things to list, but will try.Struggled to open (and close) the door because of thick strip on bottom of door.NO lock on door other than the slam lock doorknob. No toilet paper upon arrival. No phone to call front desk,so had to walk back to the desk.Only one electrical outlet in the room, with the TV plugged in them.Again, walked back to the front desk for an extension cord.No elevators.AC barely cooled the room.Waited forever for hot water in the shower and the water didn't drain,so you're standing in dirty water as you get out.Toilet seat is a thin piece of plastic.Only2 bath towels, shampoo,a bar of soap. That's it for amenities in the room.Oh,2 bottles of water.Furniture dated and broken.Only 3 hangers.2 small pillows.I will admit that the bed was decent (could be that we were exhausted from travel?)Staff at the front desk outright lied to us the following day.He said the manager was busy and couldn't see us but she would be there until 9pm.Never spoke to a manager. We checked out after the first night and went to a different hotel.Spoke to a different employee the next day(we stayed in the area but returned to try to talk to the manager) and Luisa was rude and unprofessional. She didn't attempt to resolve anything and walked away from us twice(seems like she's dealt with these complaints before)Told us there were no refunds.Only plus is that it is in...
Read moreI now understand why Google says this is a 1 star hotel. They GAVE away our room without notifying us. Despite being advertised as a 24 hour reception on booking.com, the hotel advised us that check in is between 3-6pm a couple of days before our reservation.
We advised them of our flight plans, which were due to get in at 6:17pm and there was no issue initially. We suffered a series of delays regarding our flights to Merida - all out of our control (and including an aggressive passenger). Throughout our delays we continued to update the hotel on Whatsapp with our status and ETA. The hotel read, but did not respond to any of our messages throughout these delays. When we finally arrived at the hotel at approximately 9pm, they advised they'd given our room away and initially tried to blame us for not being here in the absurd 3-6pm check in time.
There was no communication to warn us that our room could be given away if we were late or any notifications.
The staff were quite rude/standoffish initially, until we pointed out our messages on their screen.
They then had to acknowledge their mistake, but all they could offer us was a room in a hotel around the corner, which had no hot water, wifi or air conditioning. We were forced to accept this, due to the late hour and...
