Good location, walking distance to the main square. The rooms were clean with good water pressure in the shower. The bed was comfortable for us (quite firm). The aircon worked well.
Unfortunately the hotel allows the swimming pool to be open until mid-night and due to rooms facing the court yard we couldn’t sleep until late on our first night. They said their rules state this which aren’t advertised on their policies through Booking. They showed us their “rules” after we checked in and had paid which in fact stated the pool would close at 11pm and they didn’t even follow this. They blamed it on their member or staff being “a new guy”. We asked for a refund for our planned third night which initially they agreed to and told us to contact booking. They then proceeded to change their mind, telling us we should have given 24 hours notice (which we had) and said they’d not received any other complaints and they didn’t do anything wrong (including claiming they’d not received any communications from booking customer services, another lie). Their manager wouldn’t even come to speak to us in person. We weren’t refunded. We also didn’t like the fact you can’t turn the display light off on the aircon machine so the room has light all night. It was impossible to get anything other than warm water from the taps (possibly this is a water...
Read moreThe location seemed good - and there was a little plunge pool which we thought might be useful given the heat. The room we were given was large and the bathroom clean and seemingly recently renovated. Then it all went wrong. I had a shower and couldn't find a hairdryer - pulling on my clothes I went to reception - they said "one was on order" for the whole hotel? The bar/restaurant was underneath our room (albeit a few floors down) but they positioned a speaker on the pavement and played music - loudly until about 10.30pm - why? What did it matter - on the opposite street corner they started building work about that time until the early hours. There had once been access to a balcony from our room - now closed up with wooden doors with holes in them - so you could see through into the street - and also hear the music/workmen/street noise - but the bed was like trying to sleep on a rock anyway...........I have never been so pleased to...
Read moreVery good location on a quiet street only a few blocks away from the main square (parque grande). 24h reception and nice staff. Free parking both on the street outside and the hotel have their own parking spots around the corner as well. Wifi was ok when we finally were able to connect to the correct one. The ones we were told to connect to didn't reach in to our room and the one that did had a password that the girl in the reception had to contact someone to get.
Beds quite hard and very high and uncomfortable pillows. The noise from the airconditions was absolutely horrible! When the rooms above turned on their A/Cs the noise was so loud from the fans on the outside, it kept us upp all night. The reception guy tried to help us and change the room but the next room had the same issue. The pool was more of a decoration thing than an actual pool for swimming and the...
