I can’t recommend this hotel enough! It’s a new hotel (rebranded) in the heart of Roma Norte, and every moment from when I walked in until I checked out was perfection. The hospitality manager, Carlos Gomora, was an excellent host who made sure I always had everything I needed. I stayed here solo for a total of 3 nights, but wish I would have booked here for my entire trip. The room was spacious, bright, and located on the inner courtyard so the noise of the city and street was greatly reduced. The in-room bar was nicely stocked, with more than enough good bottled water for even the most dehydrated of travellers. The bedding and towels were fresh, soft, and the bed one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in. The vanity kit was amazingly thoughtful and included absolutely everything I had forgotten to bring. Turndown service includes a local treat which was absolutely lovely to find in your room after a long day of exploring the city. The hotel lobby and bar have a bright, clean, and beautiful aesthetic, with a lovely mural by James Bullough in the courtyard. The attached bakery, Macaria, has lovely tea, coffee, delicious baked goods, and excellent service. Even after I checked out and had moved to a different hotel I found myself returning here to enjoy a nice cup of tea. I also had lunch at one of their restaurants, "Suchi", which serves dishes in a Japanese / Sinaloan fusion style. Their maki were beautiful to the eye, absolutely delicious, and extremely satisfying, with the same top notch service as everywhere here. Even if you are not staying here, consider stopping in to check out Macaria for a snack, an amazing meal at Suchi, or a drink at the bar. You won't regret it. Thank you Casona Roma for making my trip memorable. I'll be back!

Casona Roma Norte was an utter disaster. After arriving at the correct check-in time, we were put in the wrong room and had to wait over an hour for what was claimed to be an upgrade. This “upgrade” included no mirror, no desk, a tiny concrete-walled balcony, and the horror of being directly below a rooftop disco blaring deafening music from 6 pm to midnight. The mornings were even worse. For over an hour starting at 6 am, staff would drag metal furniture across concrete floors, creating unbearable noise. And they did it again from 3 to 4:30 pm every day. Staff communication was beyond unprofessional. Brenda supposedly arranged an excursion but demanded full payment to the concierge, claiming the money was already spent on a tamale. She initially said only half was necessary, but I was forced to pay in full and was even double-charged. I’m still waiting for Visa to process the refund. The noise issue? Brenda’s solution was earplugs. I also booked two massages, but mine never happened due to terrible communication, while my daughter ended up with a shoulder injury from hers. The manager’s response was complete indifference. Room service was atrocious, and the process was ridiculous: a staff member arrives with a card machine and expects a tip. Broken glass from poorly designed fixtures remained in the hallway for two days. Everything about the room was cheap: poor-quality toiletries, linens, towels, and a nearly unusable closet with fixed hangers that required a step stool. Falling ill during the last day only amplified the misery of our stay. Management’s lack of concern for guest satisfaction is alarming. I absolutely do not recommend Casona Roma Norte. This was the most unpleasant hotel experience I’ve ever had.

We have really loved this place! The interior is so beautiful - my wife said she prefers it over a place that we spent way more money on in Brooklyn. There hasn’t been a rooftop party while we’ve been here and the rooms definitely aren’t soundproof, so if you expect to be in a quiet bed around 9 p.m. you might want to pick another spot. The staff has been exceedingly friendly and helpful - not sure what others have been complaining about there. Overall a wonderful stay in a great location and very well designed place.

Do NOT stay here if you want to be able to sleep in your room or take a hot shower

It’s currently 11pm and I’ve been berated with the incessant thumping of an incredibly loud party just 1 floor above me for the last FOUR hours. There was no advanced warning no apology and no attempt to lower the sound of the party. It seems that the hotel rents out the rooftop space to third parties- leaving no concern for their hotel guests. I have been told to expect this noise until 12 and… oh wait, I get the pleasure of experiencing this again tomorrow night for ANOTHER private event. I feel scammed as I had to pay for all my nights up front, meaning I don’t have the option to leave and check into another hotel so I can get some rest. To make matters worse, I’ve flown in from the Netherlands and am incredibly jet lagged. Oh, and I’ve had my shower attended to 4 times now since checking in on Monday and i still can’t take a shower that’s consistently hot. Do better and at least TRY to seem like you care about your...
