I stayed here a few years ago two or three times, and really liked it. This time my visit wasn't as great; the room showed obvious signs of wear and tear (chipped paint, a tear in the sheets) and worst of all, the water from the shower leaked into the closet, which we discovered on our day of checkout when we took my boyfriend's backpack out of the closet and found it soaking wet. Fortunately the receptionist immediately offered to have it dried for us, and by the time we checked out, the backpack was ready and someone from maintenance was checking the pipes behind the closet. Still, that part of our stay wasn't great. Plus, service at both the restaurant and the reception desk was consistently very slow.||||The positives include the unbeatable location right behind the Cathedral, the inexpensive rates, the flat-screen TVs, the high degree of cleanliness, and the decent and very accessibly priced restaurant. I still like this hotel despite the wet...
Read moreit is a budget hotel in a good location, so keep your expectations low and you might be satisfied. our stay started out on a bad note - booked a twin room, no twins available, had to share a bed = no sleep. room was stuffy, and the use of the fan, which was essential, was noisy. the room was really noisy and the restaurant dumped all its bottles outside the door in the middle of the night, room tiny and no windows. we had booked to return here after travelling elsewhere in mexico and we were assured that next time our booked twin would be available and it would be a better room...you can guess how this goes.......returned and no twin available, this time they decide to solve the problem with a trundle bed. we can sleep, room still stuffy, but room so small esp with trundle, that we can't open the door to the bathroom when the bed is pulled out. our toilets were fine but i heard other guests complaining that their toilets had...
Read moreStayed a week here. The room was small but it was clean. We had twin beds and the beds and pillows were comfortable. They gave fresh towels and serviced the room every day. You receive 2 bottles of water free and they resupply them as you use them. |Huge problem with noise. They play lovely music but if you are trying to sleep it can be annoying. We could hear people talking from down in the foyer and we were 3 floors up. If you need a quiet place to sleep reconsider staying here or bring ear plugs. Our room was never completely dark at night. |Front desk people were friendly and helpful.|The restaurant is expensive and the food isn't great. Coffee was not hot (tea was much better). If you like McDonald's coffee you can get it a couple blocks away at the Zocalo. |Hotel Azores is close to the Zocalo and to the metro. It is a handy central place to stay. Our wifi didn't work most of the time in the room. |Cost of the room...
