During my 8-night stay at this place, there was something to look forward to every morning which was its breakfast (kind of a variable one from day to day but yes always a "nice & filling" one both to get from the kitchen staff & to self-serve from the table also including some dessert & such). As for the place itself, the common room (of a pretty good size) on one side was something I was thankful for while also kind of pleasing to see were these "wall decorations" (of various handicraft objects likely locally made). And then, there was some "great service" provided by two ladies at the front desk who "quite patiently" helped me with all my questions about the city sites for sightseeing (the one who I saw most of the mornings & the one in most of the afternoons).||||And yes, besides the nice breakfast (really a reason enough), another great reason to stay at this place is its location which is "one of premium" as I would describe it for "about 2 days" of sightseeing to the sites all in walking distances (within 5 to 10 minutes) from this place: the "main plaza" Zocalo (with Catedral Metropolitana & Palacio Nacional on its 2 sides), Iglesia de Santo Domingo, Torre Latinoamericana, Palacio de Bellas Artes and Palacio Postal. And as for going further, just at about a 5-minute walk from this place are the metro stations of Zocalo & Allende (both on Line 2 and just one station after the other) from which I took the metro to some "far destinations" for just a negligible metro fare although not a straight way but with 1 or 2 line changes (Autobuses del Norte Station on Line 5 for the bus to Teotihuacan from Terminal del Norte just outside that metro station, Chapultepec Station on Line 1 for Chapultepec Castle, and Coyoacan Station on Line 3 for Museo Casa de Leon Trotsky). And also, being "centrally located", there are really quite a number of restaurants (big & small) and convenience stores (actually an Oxxo just down below) right around this place both along the street in front and along the...
Read moreI DONT RECOMENDET THIS PLACE, i was client to near 6 months anda the service is really bad, the laundry it´s really worst whit Octavio, Diana, Arely they didn´t do good, when they came back your cloth are undryed, baldy washed and white manchas. The "fake" manager Manuel is a misogynist and malinchista (racist) whit his fellow, that mistreats and less prides himself not only to women but to all their fellow citizens, he thinks that because we are not of the "Mexico City" are poor, ignorant and without access to good universities or our parents did not educate us. The room cleanliness is questionable, Azucena only cleans the part of the "broad # hallway down no beds or spaces between the beds. the breakfast always it´s the same eggs badly make. When I left there was not returned me my deposits or the payment of stay for 1200 or the locker kitchen 200, I invented a charge of 200 pesos because they're swindlers Manuel and Octavio and I moved my departure it was 4 and changed to 2, the check out they did on day 4 after 12 to justify their debts, when I went 10am, they changed the pay slips and according to Manuel received my payments and work at night, I never paid to him, I paid the receptionists on duty when they worked therJorge and Ricardo, manuel never work at night and he did that Ricardo gave the money, but Manuel and Octavio dind´t comeback the locker´s money. The service of the receptionists left in the Octavio morning and in the afternoon I was a kid lenses are worst, Octavio prefers take a phone call a young lady in towel that was left outside your room after showering because the service activation key is lousy. THE COSTUMERS SERVICE IT´S REALLY BAD.
Read moreIt was only annoying to get the bedsheets on the bed on the top bunk. Especially because the beds are very unstable and shake when you climb up them. I was coughing and could feel the whole bed shaking. No railings either, so if your bed is a top bunk and not against the wall, best of luck not falling off or dropping anything.
The kitchen is nice and well-equipped. I didn't know there would be a full kitchen from looking at the listing on booking, hostelworld, the website, or reviews here. So that was nice. It's closed for cleaning 12-2pm is the only downside.
The toilets and showers are separated from each other and also seperated by male and female, and in strange locations. My room was on the side of the building with the male toilets, then the next hallway was the female showers, then the next hallway was the male showers, and then the exact opposite end of the building was the female toilets so it was annoying walking all the way over there whenever I had to use the toilet. Showers have hot water that turns on fast, no need to wait. Location is good with easy access to metro and right next to the...
