A very disappointing experience (and I've never said this about a gym before).
A basic gym with many machines and an expensive drop in rate (200 pesos) for what it is. As a person who has basic gym needs, those needs were not met.
Suggestions for improvements: Always have (2) dumbbells of the same weight on the floors with dumbbell racks. I could only find (1) 15 lb, (1) 20 lb and (1) 25 lb weight, after looking on two levels, so I had to make a lot of adjustments to my routine and I spent unnecessary time searching for them. I also never found the dumbbell sets! Have towels and a spray bottle for cleaning equipment. I could not find any on the floor. If visitors cannot clean equipment, it means equipment is likely sweaty from previous people Add a filter water station or sell agua. I did not bring a water bottle and there was no water option, so I could not exercise as hard as I usually do. Reduce your drop in fee if you want return customers. Your drop-in is more expensive than drop-in fitness centres in Canada. Create a mat and floor area for abs, stretching and floor exercises. There is no spot to do this, which I've never experienced before! Everyone needs to stretch. Add a bike option. I was shocked to not see any cycling options
In the current state, I do not recommend this gym.
Recommend Smart Fit gym instead:...
Read moreI’m visiting and I did not read the reviews. Look you are in Mexico you don’t want problems. DO NOT GO TO THIS GYM!!! Stay away from here!! Stay safe.
About the actual gym. Yes, the staff is very rude except one younger gentleman. If you are a visitor you are NOT ALLOWED to use the lockers. They will ask you to put your things unattended on top of a cubby. This is despite there being plenty of lockers available and hardly anyone in the gym. (No way!). I got into an agreement about this. Anyone can take your things. The infrastructure: absolutely scary! This building literally is going to collapse at any moment. The stairs are very narrow and go up 5 floors with no railings! One wrong step you are pretty much going to die. I wish is was being dramatic. The place inside is pretty ugly. The view, yes it’s very pretty. But any view 5 stories up is going to be pretty. You just don’t want to jeopardize your life by getting there for a workout. Seems counterproductive. Did I mention this goes up 5 stories on narrow stairs with no railings and it’s dark. Ok, just making sure. NO ENGLISH SPEAKING STAFF HERE. You know Thats totally ok. However it’s still costumer service and this is a tourist spot. So the fact that staff won’t even try. Not even as much as point to the board with the prices and ask you to choose. They won’t even meet you...
Read moreNO DEAD-LIFTING ALLOWED! They don't post this policy nor do they tell you about it before you pay for a membership. (They also don't enforce it consistently, so you might be able to get away with it for a while but, if DLs are an important part of your work out, you should probably go elsewhere). Annoying loud music on the first floor, where much of the resistance exercise must be done, from frenetic rave music, to which is impossible to do any weightlifting (though maybe twerking which, thankfully, I've seen no one attempt), to bubblegum pop pitched to the emotional register of 15-year-old girls. Everyone has their own devices, music, and earbuds, nowadays, so why even force any music on everyone anyway? Most of the benches are rickety and/or no longer fully adjustable. Top floor gets hot under the sun but could be improved with more openable windows. Water costs MXN 28/bottle so bring your own. Relatively cheap monthly...
