We have stayed at Cruz Con Mar before. ( we live in Playa) The place used to be nice but has went downhill from my understanding from the tenants . It is under new management. We rented from Nora an Airbnb host. When we went up to the pools we found out that the beautiful jacuzzi’s that they have over looking the ocean were not working. I would expect that the host had put that in the description, for this really is the highlight to the building. The pools and Jacuzzi’s were cold. When we acquired about them not working the host said, they said they have been down for 3 months. The tenants said it’s been about a year. We paid a lot of money for our two weeks stay and it was not worth it. We ended up renting a penthouse house at Miranda, lovely heated pool and 2 jacuzzi’s that work and also your own pool! Also El Faro is a wonderful place with huge pool overlooking the ocean. We were disappointed with our stay and will not come back. Also the host should of been honest in the description of the property, but all she could say was , that “ it was out of her control” sure but stating that the jacuzzi’s were not working, then we would have not booked her place . She also stated in her review about us that we were hard to please! We have only got rave reviews from other host. Since we live out of Airbnb exclusively. I guess being honest about your property is a...
Read moreFirst, this is a beautiful building and the finishings were done very professionally. It is only a year or two old. ||||However, the builder in the plumbing aspect cut corners and was sloppy to a point of making me sick. ||||Our unit, 411, has a toxic sewer smell coming from the laundry closet. Because we spent our money to disinfect it with no improvement, the only conclusion I can reach is that they did not connect a ‘vent stack’ to the sewer pipes for this area. Vent stacks allow air in the pipes that is toxic to leave through a pipe that goes outside of the building, usually on the roof. ||||Every morning I wake up with a pneumonia like wet cough and sinus issues. If I go to the balcony, roof pool or take a walk and in 30-60 minutes I am miraculously better with no symptoms. ||||To live we need to keep all doors, including the front door open to vent the gas. For safety, at night we cannot do that. ||||If we run the A/C, because the bad air recirculates, the health problems are worse. ||||We have noticed similar smells near other units - not all of them. ||||It is too bad that such a nice looking place in a great location is literally toxic. ||||The staff are really nice. This place has so much going for it, but fails in the most basic way. ...
Read moreWe recently stayed in an AirBNB rental at Cruz del Mar. Its' location was perfect: two blocks from the beach and two blocks from the main tourist area with restaurants, bars, money changing places, covid testing for re-entry into the US, etc. We loved the condo and host, but were also extremely impressed with the reception staff at the front desk. They were helpful in every way. Check-in was a breeze. The entire place was clean and well decorated. The reception staff always greeted us well. They were extremely helpful when we asked them for recommendations on places to go to eat, as well as directions to anywhere that we wanted. A huge shout out goes to the female receptionist who assisted us yesterday with a transport problem we had. Our transport vehicle hadn't shown up, and our flight was departing soon. I showed the paperwork to the receptionist who spotted the problem and worked diligently to rectify the situation. Her fast observation and diagnosis saved the day! We are eternally grateful to her, as all went well. Michisimas gracias...
